On Monday afternoon, Annah Tagovailoa shared her pride in the quarterback and all of his hardwork with the Dolphins.
The Miami Dolphins will now have to build their roster around $99.2 million in dead salary cap space, which will be split between the next two seasons. Tagovailoa was benched in December in favor of rookie quarterback Quinn Ewers.
Tagovailoa will now join fellow left-handed quarterback Michael Penix Jr., who tore his ACL in November.

Tua Tagovailoa sent heartfelt IG message after Dolphins release
Shortly after news broke Tua Tagovailoa addressed his release by sharing his thoughts on his tenure with the Dolphins. He included a video collage featuring clips throughout his career and shared his gratitude for the fans, his teammates and everyone involved in the Dolphins organization.
“From the moment I arrived, you believed in me, supported me, and embraced my family as your own. I was able to marry my wife and welcome both my kids to this world. I was able to fortunately allow them to experience life from one I never got to growing up. Wearing this jersey and representing this city has been one of the greatest joys of my life,” Tagovailoa said.
He continued,”To my teammates and coaches, thank you for the battles, the brotherhood, and the standard of excellence we tried achieving every single day we step foot on that field. I’ve met so many of your families and cherish the friendships I’ve been able to make these last 6 years. The work we put in together, the wins we celebrated, and even the tough moments shaped me not just as a player, but as a man,”
Tagovailoa was the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft. He played six seasons with the team and in July 2024 signed a four-year contract extension worth $212.4 million.
