Ronda Rousey set to return, but not in WWE; announcement receives a reaction from AEW star

The former WWE Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey officially announced her massive return, and an AEW personality reacted. The Baddest Woman on the Planet will not be returning to the squared circle, however.

The AEW star, Renee Paquette reacted to Ronda Rousey’s recent announcement. Aside from being one of the greatest female MMA fighters, Ronda is also known for her career in the WWE from 2018 to 2023. After her departure from the Stamford-based promotion, Rousey competed in a couple of matches on the independent scene before her last match.

Meanwhile, the UFC Bantamweight Champion is all set for a return to the MMA Hexagon for the first time since her last fight in 2016. Ronda officially announced through her recent Instagram post that she will be taking on the MMA veteran, Gina Carano, in a fight on May 16, which will be streaming on Netflix:

“Been waiting so long to announce this: Me and @ginajcarano are gonna throw down in the biggest super fight in women’s combat sport history! And we’re partnering with the fighter-first promotion @mostvaluablepromotions as well as the baddest streamer on the planet @netflix! This is for all MMA fans past, present and future. More to come… much more ;)”

Taking notice of the huge announcement by Rousey, the AEW backstage interviewer, Renee Paquette reacted with the following comment:

“Oh sh*t!”

Ronda Rousey competed in her last wrestling match in Tony Khan’s promotion

Ronda Rousey departed the WWE in 2023, and after her two indie matches, she had her last match on Tony Khan-owned Ring of Honor in the same year. In November 2023, Rousey teamed with her long-time friend and AEW star, Marina Shafir, to secure a win over the team of ROH Women’s World Champion, Athena, as well as Billie Starkz.

Only time will tell if Ronda will be back inside the squared circle as well.
