Richard Sherman gives clear verdict on Kyle Shanahan in hot seat narrative as HC heads into 10th season with 49ers
Richard Sherman isn’t buying the narratives about Kyle Shanahan being on the hot seat. The former lockdown cornerback turned analyst appeared on Friday’s episode of the “Richard Sherman Podcast, where he was asked if the 49ers miss the playoffs this season, will Kyle Shanahan be on the hot seat?
“I don’t know who asked this question, but we gotta check what’s in their cup. Absolutely not, Sherman said.
Thanks for the submission!
“He wouldn’t be close. He would be on an iceberg, and if he was somehow on the hot seat, then there would be 20 seats in the NFL getting hotter as his got hotter because if he ever got fired, so would they.

Kyle Shanahan is searching for his first Super Bowl title
Kyle Shanahan is one of the most respected and longest-serving coaches in the NFL. He’s gearing up for his 10th season on the 49ers’ hot seat, and he’ll be tasked with bringing the Vince Lombardi Trophy to San Francisco.
Shanahan started his coaching journey as a graduate assistant at UCLA. He spent a year with the Bruins before becoming an offensive quality coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Shanahan would enjoy stints in various capacities with the Bucs, Houston Texans, Washington Redskins, Cleveland Browns, and Atlanta Falcons before he was appointed as the San Francisco 49ers coach on February 6, 2017.
