Rey Fenix reveals real reason why he hasn’t reunited with his brother Penta in WWE

The Lucha Brothers (Penta and Rey Fenix) are widely considered one of the greatest tag teams of the modern era. Apart from their athletic prowess, they have amazing chemistry inside the ring since they are brothers in real life. They are currently singles wrestlers on different brands.

On the RRBG podcast, Rey Fenix was asked about the possibility of reuniting with Penta in WWE. In response, Fenix said he missed wrestling alongside his brother. However, the former AEW International Champion was happy that he and Cero Miedo were being allowed to shine as individuals.

The 35-year-old highlighted the bright side of teaming up with Je’Von Evans, Andrade, and Sami Zayn. Fenix revealed that he and the Intercontinental Champion were not teaming up because they were attempting to deliver “something different.”

“Obviously, I miss wrestling with my brother. I miss fighting and working with him every day, whenever we’re working, but it’s a great opportunity we have to show who we are individually. I have worked with Je’Von Evans, I worked in his time with Andrade, I’m working now with Sami Zayn, and I also worked with Rey Mysterio at the most recent AAA events. I think it’s a good opportunity both for us as wrestlers and for the audience to see something different,” Rey Fenix said. (11:51 onwards)

Fenix added that fans were also waiting for The Lucha Brothers’ reunion, but asked them to be patient. The SmackDown star discussed the importance of being patient in the business and trusting the process. He concluded by saying that he trusted WWE’s vision, given its success in the pro wrestling industry.

Rey Fenix and Penta were scheduled to reunite in AAA

At AAA Guerra De Titanes 2025, Rey Fenix and Penta were supposed to reunite. This would’ve marked their first match together in WWE. However, Penta’s injury sidelined him from the bout.

The RAW Superstar had suffered a shoulder injury during his match with Solo Sikoa. He could not complete the match and had to be rushed for treatment. This delayed The Lucha Brothers’ reunion. With Cero Miedo and Fenix now active on their respective brands, they should reunite in AAA.
