NFL insider shares update on Rashod Bateman’s future heading into contract year under Ravens’ new OC Declan Doyle

The Baltimore Ravens are left with important decisions to their offensive options this offseason. Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman’s future with the team has become uncertain after his underwhelming 2025 season.

Bateman, who signed a three-year $15 million contract extension, ahead of the 2024 season, had his career best performance that year. However, his numbers declined last season.

The 26-year-old wide receiver had 19 receptions on 38 targets with 224 receiving yards and two touchdowns in 12 starts in the 2025 season. While his performance has drawn scepticism, a report from Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano claimed that the Ravens will stick with Bateman under new offensive coordinator Declan Doyle.

“Rashod Bateman is coming off a down year but is guaranteed $6.5 million this year, and the Ravens seem inclined to give him another shot in the new offense they’re installing under new coordinator Declan Doyle,” the report read.

NFL analyst proposed Rashod Bateman trade to Philadelphia for Pro Bowl wide receiver

Earlier this week, NFL analyst Ben Solak proposed a “drastic” trade involving the Vikings wide receiver. Solak urged to trade Rashod Bateman for Philadelphia Eagles star A.J. Brown.

“While they might not need to make a move this drastic, they would benefit from having a receiver with size and contested-catch ability — something quarterback Lamar Jackson has never enjoyed in his seven seasons,” Solak wrote.

“By acquiring him for Bateman, the Ravens can give Brown a true WR1’s volume and use Zay Flowers as a big-play WR2 — something that fits his skill set more.”

The Eagles Pro Bowler had been subject of trade talks this offseason after a lackluster offensive showing in 2025. A potential trade could end up benefitting both teams.
