NFL analyst raises major question on Kyler Murray’s fit with Jets as Aaron Glenn sits in hot seat heading into 2nd season as HC

Kimberley A. Martin has doubts about Kyler Murray joining the New York Jets. The ESPN analyst said the Arizona Cardinals quarterback has skills but also creates concerns that could sink a franchise already struggling to find direction.

She addressed the growing chatter about Murray potentially landing in New York after the team won just three games in 2025.

“From a talent perspective on the field, I like it,” Martin said on Wednesday, via “Get Up.” “I hate it for everything off the field, meaning, keep in keep in mind, in Arizona, teammates question leadership. Can he, can he talent? Can he win you games? Yes, could he potentially be a headache? Yes. I don’t know that to be true.

“I don’t know if that would be the case here, but it does give me pause when your teammates question your leadership. For this franchise in particular, this is a franchise that needs stability. This is a franchise with a head coach who is already on the hot seat.”

Aaron Glenn’s job security depends on getting everyone moving in the same direction quickly. Reports from Arizona suggested that Kyler Murray’s former teammates doubted his leadership abilities. An unnamed Cardinals player told ESPN’s Rich Cimini on Thursday to warn the Jets away from acquiring him.

New York cycled through Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor at quarterback in 2025 without finding stability. Glenn hired Frank Reich as offensive coordinator on Feb, 4, adding an experienced voice to help fix the offense.

“This is a franchise that needs the GM, the head coach, the quarterback, all to be on one accord and going in the same direction,” Kimberley A. Martin said.

Murray played five games last season before a foot injury shut him down. He completed 68 percent of his passes and threw six touchdowns in limited time. Arizona gave Murray a five-year deal worth $230.5 million in 2022, but the relationship between the quarterback and the organization fell apart.
