“My experience is my biggest edge” – Jeremy Miado banking on his veteran savvy at ONE Fight Night 41
Filipino veteran Jeremy Miado reckons he will have a tough night out in the office against Willie van Rooyen, but the man known to his fans as ‘The Jaguar’ is ready to tap into his experience to outslug the young South African warrior on fight night.
The Blaze FC strawweight champion returns to action in a flyweight MMA tussle against the 23-year-old fighter, who will be appearing for the second time on the global stage of ONE Championship this Friday, March 13.
Ahead of their clash at ONE Fight Night 41: Sinsamut vs. Jarvis on Prime Video, Jeremy Miado revealed the biggest trump card he’ll have over his foe inside the squared circle.
“My experience is my biggest edge. I feel like I’ve faced some of the best fighters in the promotion, so that gives me a great mental boost,” the Albay native told ONE Championship.

Indeed, the Marrok Force man has faced the who’s who across the strawweight and flyweight brackets.
He’s even knocked out former ONE strawweight MMA world champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke in the past, and even the likes of Lito Adiwang and Danial Williams have fallen prey to his match-ending power.
That said, Jeremy Miado enters this battle eager to get his career back on track after dropping five of his last six fights under the ONE banner.
Should his veteran savvy prove to be the difference, Miado will be able to continue his climb to the top of the flyweight division.
Willie van Rooyen promises to take Jeremy Miado into deep waters in Bangkok
Jeremy Miado’s craftiness in striking and his knockout power have been his most dangerous weapons throughout his professional career. However, the 33-year-old’s ground game remains his biggest flaw.
Willie van Rooyen has studied his foe extensively and sees advantages he’ll have over ‘The Jaguar’ in that department.
“I want to test my ground, my wrestling, to see how much it has improved. We’re definitely going to go to the ground, and I’m going to test his wrestling as well, because in his previous fights, I think most of his losses were when the guys were wrestling him,” he told ONE in a separate interview.
Active Amazon Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada can catch the entire ONE Fight Night 41 card, live in U.S. primetime, for free this Friday, March 13.
