Kyle Busch’s son Brexton earns rare praise from NASCAR legend Mark Martin ahead of Late Model debut

Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch’s ten-year-old son, Brexton Busch, is set to make his debut in the Late Model division. The younger Busch recently shared an X post about his preparations ahead of his debut and earned praise from former stock car racing driver Mark Martin.

Brexton has spent the majority of his career racing cars of his size. However, this season, the son of the two-time NASCAR champion will compete in the JR Late Model division this weekend. The category features drivers no younger than 10 years old and no older than 16 years old. Also, the division features a GM 602 crate engine pumping approximately 350 horsepower, along with an 8″ Hoosier 970 tire.

Kyle Busch’s son won the INEX Bandolero Bandits National Championship, clinching 23 wins and 28 podium finishes last season. Following that, Brexton shared a link to a YouTube video featuring the 10-year-old practicing for the main event. He wrote:

“Watch me drive a full-size racecar for the first time! I spent an afternoon testing a Jr. Late Model in preparation for my debut this weekend!”

The post caught NASCAR legend Mark Martin’s attention, and the younger Busch drew praise from him. Martin reshared the post and wrote:

“Kid is wheeling it. He isn’t going to need coaching for long. He already gets it @brextonbusch”

Brexton Busch will compete in the 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model Series on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Madera Speedway in California. The younger Busch will drive the #18 Jr. Late Model managed by Wilson Motorsports.

“My son’s run more races than he has”: Kyle Busch called out the ARCA Menards Series driver, drawing a comparison to his son

ARCA Menards Series driver Cleetus McFarland has been surrounded by controversies since his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut. Following that, former NASCAR champion Kyle Larson also joined the debate and called out Richard Childress Racing’s decision and questioned McFarland’s driving experience.

Continuing, Busch cited his former teammate Denny Hamlin’s experience in racing as a benchmark before earning a seat in the top-tier series. Moreover, the former NASCAR champion then highlighted that his ten-year-old son has more experience than McFarland.

Reflecting on that, Kyle Busch stated:

“I mean, he just, I don’t know. I don’t know how many races he’s run. Denny Hamlin ran 10,000, right, before he got here. I don’t know if Cleetus has run 10 or not, but there’s definitely a need to having ample experience.”

“My son’s probably run more races than he has, and he’s 10 years old. You know what I mean? So I don’t think that sits well with many of us,” he concluded.

Kyle Busch’s son has won 150 races in his career. Additionally, he has secured a Golden Driller in the 2025 Tulsa Shootout in the JR Sprint division. He also became the KKM Challenge JR. Sprint and Millbridge Speedway Restricted Micro Champion in 2024.
