John Cena is set to return and host WrestleMania 42. He sent a message to the five WWE Superstars, who will make their WrestleMania debut this year.

Cena retired from professional wrestling in 2025, losing to Gunther in his final match. Throughout the years, he competed and headlined several WrestleMania shows, including his final, where he won the Undisputed WWE Championship and became a 17-time WWE World Champion.

On X, Cena sent a message to Lash Legend, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Oba Femi, and Stephanie Vaquer, who are set to make their WrestleMania debut. The Last Real Champion is excited to witness these superstars compete at The Grandest Stage of Them All.

“Since retirement I’ve met so many wonderful people who’ve shared with me that they saw my first WrestleMania match … and my last. I’m so excited to be able to say “I was there!” for the WM debuts of this incredible group! @LashLegendWWE @WWEJeVonEvans @_trickwilliams @Obaofwwe @Steph_Vaquer,” wrote Cena.

John Cena hinted at taking up a new role in WWE after his retirement

John Cena hinted at taking up a new WWE role a few months after retiring from in-ring competition. The 17-time WWE World Champion has claimed that he is trying to figure out the next path in his life as a member of the WWE.

Speaking at a Q&A session at MEGACON Orlando, Cena stated he is excited about the road ahead.

“I am working diligently to try to figure out my next path as a contributing useful member of WWE. I think I might crack the code, and I think we have something, and if the stars align and everybody signs off, I will be a whole lot more integrated in the system, and I’m very excited about the road ahead. And I’ll just cross my fingers that it works,”

John Cena confirmed on social media that he will host WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. This will mark his first televised appearance since retiring from in-ring competition in December 2025.
