“He’s too good” – Brendan Schaub casts doubt on UFC being able to “discipline” Arman Tsarukyan in light of RAF 6 brawl
Brendan Schaub recently shared his thoughts on Arman Tsarukyan getting into an altercation after his RAF 6 wrestling match and wondered how the UFC planned to discipline the lightweight star.
For context, Tsarukyan faced Georgio Poullas in a freestyle wrestling match at RAF 6 in Arizona last weekend. While ‘Ahalkalakets’ beat Poullas via a 5-3 decision, he initiated a brawl with his opponent immediately after the match ended by throwing punches.
Despite being a top-ranked lightweight contender, the UFC has kept Tsarukyan away from a title shot due to his questionable decision-making. In April 2024, he swung at a fan in the crowd during his walkout for his fight against Charles Oliveira at UFC 300, which cost him $24,000 in penalties and a nine-month suspension.
After that, he pulled out of a title fight against Islam Makhachev at UFC 311 last January just one day before the event. More recently, he headbutted Dan Hooker during a staredown before their UFC Qatar clash last November and risked injuring his opponent before the fight.

Nevertheless, Tsarukyan is on a five-fight win streak and has beaten high-profile opponents like Oliveira, Hooker, and Beneil Dariush. With a record of 23-3, he’s widely considered one of the most dangerous fighters in the 155-pound division.
In a video shared to his YouTube channel, Schaub wondered how the promotion planned on getting Tsarukyan under control and said:
“How do you discipline Arman Tsarukyan? Go to the 155 [pound] rankings. Who do you give him to discipline him? What are you gonna do? He gets the winner of Max Holloway vs. Charles Oliveira; he beats both of them… The only guy who has a shot to beat him is the champion, Ilia Topuria. Outside of that, he mops the floor with everybody. The UFC is in a bit of a pickle here.”
He added:
“He’s built his value. He’s built his exposure. That’s exactly what the UFC wants from guys… How do you discipline this guy? He’s too good.”
Arman Tsarukyan urges Dana White and UFC brass to forgive his past mistakes
In January, Arman Tsarukyan called on Dana White and the UFC brass to forgive him and vowed that he had turned into a “good boy.”
In an interview with Daniel Cormier (via @Home_of_Fight on X), ‘Ahalkalakets’ also called for a title opportunity and said:
“Dana and Hunter [Campbell], forgive me. Give me a title fight. I’ll be a good boy. I’m a good boy. I’m not going to hit anybody anymore.”
