“He can’t wrestle,” “I understand why Tony never used this guy” – Fans react to ex-AEW star’s current WWE run

A former AEW star recently debuted in WWE and has been having an interesting presence on television. This led the wrestling fans to react to his current run so far.

The aforementioned star, who recently signed with WWE, is Danhausen. Mr. Very Nice Very Evil became a popular name for his stint with All Elite Wrestling. However, he was kept off television since the 2023 Worlds End pay-per-view. Following the end of his contract, he signed with the Stamford-based promotion in 2026 and made his debut at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event in February.

In the weeks after his debut, Danhausen has had comedic encounters with WWE superstars, been a top merchandise seller, and had interesting fan interaction segments during RAW and SmackDown. Given everything so far, wrestling fans began debating his current WWE run on social media. One fan took a dig at Danhausen not being used by AEW for a long time due to only being a comedic attraction.

“I understand why Tony never used this guy on AEW tv.”

Another fan joined the fray and bluntly said that Danhausen could not wrestle inside the squared circle.

“needs way too much time to be a glorified mascot. on top of that he can’t wrestle.”

At the same time, there were fans who took digs at All Elite Wrestling. They claimed it was just a professional wrestling company and that Danhausen sold more merchandise than any current star there. Moreover, one fan firmly believed that he was where he needed to be to thrive in the business.

@Noahgilberto19 Cause AEW is a WRESTLING company and the other is a SPORT ENTERTAINMENT business.

@Noahgilberto19 He’s where he needs to be. And I mean that as a compliment. He’s an entertainer. That’s all they want.

@Noahgilberto19 Because he is going to make more merch money than anybody in aew ever?

Former AEW star Danhausen’s curse victim issues statement

Another interesting antic that Danhausen has been pulling off is cursing people in WWE. His latest victim was Grayson Waller; however, he took to his X to say that his curses were not real.

“Curses aren’t real,” he wrote.

With Dominik Mysterio losing the WWE Intercontinental title right after Danhausen cursed him, it remains to be seen if anything bad will also happen with Waller, considering he is an outright non-believer in it.
