Golden Globe Winner Timothée Chalamet Drops Huge WWE Revelation
Golden Globe winner Timothée Chalamet has dropped a huge revelation. The Hollywood sensation is a huge wrestling fan and recently talked about WWE’s massive influence on him while he was a kid.
In a new Variety/CNN Town Hall interview with fellow actor Matthew McConaughey, the Dune actor mentioned how he wanted to be an athlete growing up but didn’t feel he had the physical tools for it. This was where pro wrestling’s mix of sports and entertainment became a guiding light for him.

He said even though he grew up around actors, acting wasn’t his first dream, but WWE was somewhere in the middle.
“Professional wrestling for me was sort of a guidepost growing up because I wanted to be an athlete; I just didn’t have the skill, the body, the physique, the speed. Acting was sort of, I grew up in an actor’s building, and it wasn’t my dream at its core. It just wasn’t, for whatever reason. WWE and professional wrestling was somewhere in the middle,” he said.
The actor, who won the Golden Globe this year for his role in ‘Marty Supreme,’ also shot back against the criticism of pro wrestling being fake.
“It was like the titans our athletes; both men and women, but with this showmanship and storytelling. It’s planned, it’s scripted, it’s fake, some people say, but the blows are real. The bruises are real. So, it was hugely inspirational,” he added.
Chalamet compared pro wrestling to a Greek theater setting and said he loved The Boogeyman in WWE.
Timothée Chalamet discussed his love for WWE with Cody Rhodes
A couple of months ago, Timothée Chalamet made an appearance on What Do You Wanna Talk About? With Cody Rhodes. During the conversation, the actor talked about his love for WWE growing up and discussed various aspects of the business currently.
He also recalled an interaction with former WWE Champion Batista, who was his co-actor in the 2024 movie Dune: Part 2.
Timothée Chalamet said he knocked on Batista’s trailer door and surprised him with the ‘Animal’ theme song playing on his phone and also did his signature machine gun taunt.
