“Change the game in an instant” – Pundit details exorbitant fee Chelsea could command to part ways with Cole Palmer amid Manchester United links
Former Chelsea and Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair has claimed Cole Palmer could cost Manchester United around £200 million. He heaped praise on the Englishman and said that he could move this summer if the Blues don’t qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Palmer has been linked with a return to Manchester in the summer, with United being a potential target. The midfielder came through Manchester City’s academy before joining Chelsea in 2023. His contract at Stamford Bridge will expire in 2033.
Thanks for the submission!
Scott Sinclair spoke about Palmer potentially joining Manchester United in an interview with OLBG and said (h/t Tribal Football):
“Palmer is a quality player, and we all know his attributes. It’s about finding him, getting him on the ball, facing forward to attack players, and creating. For me, he’s a player who can change a game in an instant. When he gets forward, and he’s on it, he’s a top player. I’m not sure. From the outside, I think he seems happy enough and is enjoying his football. We just need to get that top, top level form back. I don’t think he’d be looking elsewhere.”
“If Chelsea don’t make the Champions League spot, then that’s up to him to decide. But Chelsea is a massive club and I don’t think any player would want to leave. He’s a top player, probably one of the best in the Premier League. I’m sure that sort of price tag, maybe £200M, will come along. He’s contracted and signed a long deal, so only time will tell,” he added.
The Blues are sixth in the Premier League standings after 31 games, seven points behind third-placed Manchester United.
Pundit names team Cole Palmer could join instead of Manchester United if he leaves Chelsea
Former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey believes Cole Palmer could be a good fit for Barcelona amidst speculation about his future. He questioned whether the Englishman is a Manchester United fan and claimed that Barcelona fans would love his playing style.
Heskey said:
“If Cole Palmer is a Manchester United fan, probably not! I could see someone like him in a Barcelona shirt. The way that he plays, the fans would love him. But then again, when you’re a kid and you’re growing up, there’s things that you dream of doing as a footballer.”
“You dream of playing at a World Cup. You dream of putting on that England shirt. You dream of lifting the FA Cup. Things like that. And you dream of playing for your boyhood club. So Cole will have dreams too, possibly to play for Manchester United, so I wouldn’t put it past him if he did turn up there and they did take him on,” he added.
Palmer has previously revealed that he grew up as a United fan despite coming through Manchester City’s academy. The Chelsea star made 41 senior appearances for the Cityzens, contributing six goals and two assists.
