“Can’t say it’s exactly unexpected”: Perez Hilton reacts after reported reason behind Justin Bieber & Usher’s altercation at Beyoncé’s party surfaces
Justin Bieber and Usher were allegedly involved in a ‘heated exchange’ during Beyonce an Jay-Z’s afterparty after the 2026 Oscars. As per multiple sources, they didn’t get physical, but there was some verbal altercation between the former collaborators.
Last week, multiple sources reported that Justin Bieber and Usher Raymond IV brushed off against each other at Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s afterparty. The Daily Mail published a report on March 21, where some insiders detailed the reported incident. They claimed that it stemmed from the rapper allegedly feeling disrespect from the Canadian singer.
One source reportedly said:
“On Oscar night, it reached a boiling point. Usher feels Justin’s behavior of late and in particular on the night has been out of line.”
“From his perspective, there’s a level of loyalty and gratitude that hasn’t been reciprocated, and the distance between them has come off as dismissive and disrespectful. Usher, who played a key role in helping Justin get his start, feels that history matters,” the source added.
Podcaster Perez Hilton has reacted to this report on his website. He highlighted that Justin Bieber had unfollowed the rapper last year following the Diddy allegations. Hence, about the reported altercation at the Oscars party, the blogger added:
“Wow. We can’t say it’s exactly unexpected, all things considered.”
Meanwhile, another source reportedly told the Daily Mail:
“He feels taken advantage of and has some disdain for his past management.”
In 2007, Scooter Braun signed Bieber to Raymond Braun Media Group, a joint venture between the former and Usher. The rapper helped the Canadian singer-songwriter early in his career and also featured in some of his biggest hits, like Somebody to Love and First Dance.

Usher reportedly introduced Justin Bieber to Diddy

Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced to four years in prison in October last year for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He faced numerous other charges but was convicted of these two in July.
Notably, a picture of the rapper with a 15-year-old Justin Bieber also came out last year, leading to plenty of speculation. The Canadian singer’s representatives put out a statement that read:
“Although Justin is not among Sean Combs’ victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him. Shifting focus away from this reality detracts from the justice these victims rightfully deserve.”
Meanwhile, Usher reportedly introduced Bieber to Diddy early in his career. Singer Jaguar Wright said in an interview with RealLyfe Productions in May 2024:
“Diddy had been trying to get Bieber for a minute but his [Bieber’s] management was trying to back him off. But it wasn’t until Usher took over management and had guardianship and gave the temporary guardianship to Diddy for 48 hours. Think about that.”
Notably, there is no indication of any wrongdoing from either of the two former collaborators. Justin Bieber, however, unfollowed the rapper and some other celebrities on social media last year during the Diddy controversy.
In 2024, Usher also claimed that he asked Bieber to feature in his Super Bowl Halftime Show, but the Canadian singer refused.
