AEW officially makes a big announcement on Andrade’s immediate future
Andrade El Idolo’s next major appearance in AEW has just been officially announced tonight. He is set for action this week and will be featured in a first-time matchup.
The former WWE Superstar has been on a roll since returning to the Jacksonville-based promotion. He has competed against some of the best on the roster and has even put himself in line for a future shot at the AEW World Championship. He has also thrived as a member of the Don Callis Family.
Andrade El Idolo is set to compete this weekend at AEW Collision, taking on CMLL’s Mascara Dorada in singles action. This will be the first time he will take on this version of Dorada, as he faced off with the previous man in the mask more than a decade ago. This also comes just one day before his match with Bandido at Revolution this Sunday.
Dorada, on the other hand, is competing in his first match in AEW since December, on Worlds End Zero-Hour. The luchador signed a dual contract with the Jacksonville-based promotion earlier in the year. The likes of Persephone and Hechicero also have this same arrangement, and they were featured earlier tonight on Dynamite.
Bandido will be keeping a close watch on this match as he looks to prepare for what could be a highly physical match with Andrade El Idolo at the pay-per-view. The former WWE Superstar is looking for much-needed momentum as well, heading into this contest.
Should he get the better of the ROH World Champion, he would further solidify his case as a future challenger for the AEW world title. But for the meantime at least, he’ll need to bring his best self on Saturday as Mascara Dorada will not be in easy opponent to take down.
