29-YO PGAT pro hilariously goes wife hunting at the Vlaspar Championship 2026: “I offer good stuff”

Alejandro Tosti found a fun way to stand out at the Valspar Championship this week, and it had nothing to do with his score.

The 29-year-old had his caddie Joaquin Ali walk around with “NEED A WIFE” written on the bib during the opening round at Innisbrook’s Copperhead Course. It did not take long for people to notice, with fans stopping to ask what it meant and who it was for.

Tosti later said the idea came from a casual conversation with volunteers earlier in the week.

“So the ladies that volunteer here were asking me, ‘do you have a wife’, I said ‘no’ and it came from there.

“A lot of people were asking if it was my caddie that was needing a wife, but, no, it’s actually me.”

The reactions kept coming as the round went on.

“A lot of people were taking pictures and making fun of him and asking what was going on and, yeah, it was fun.”

He even joked about why he might be a good option.

“I offer a lot of good stuff. I love cooking. I fly planes. I can play golf and have fun.”

The idea worked well with the vibe of the Valspar Championship, where players are allowed to get creative with what goes on their caddie bibs. It is one of the few weeks on tour where things feel a bit more relaxed, and Tosti leaned right into it.

As for his golf, he opened with an even par round and will look to move forward from there.

How Alejandro Tosti is faring at the Valspar Championship

Away from the attention around his caddie bib, Tosti has had a steady start on the course. He opened with an even par round at Innisbrook’s Copperhead Course and kept things going similarly during his second round at the Valspar Championship. At one point, he went through 18 straight holes without dropping or gaining a shot, sitting at level par as play continued.

He will be hoping to do better than last year, when he missed the cut at this event after finishing at seven over. Looking at his recent form, the numbers have been a bit up and down. Over his last five tournaments, Tosti has lost strokes in a few key areas. He is averaging minus 0.457 in strokes gained off the tee and minus 1.161 in approach play. His overall strokes gained stands at minus 2.842 across that stretch.

His last ten starts have not brought much success either. His best result in that run was still a missed cut at the John Deere Classic where he finished at four under. Despite that he has put himself in a stable position this week and will look to build on it over the remaining rounds of the Valspar Championship.
