The Masters LIVE: Latest updates and leaderboard with McIlroy sharing lead

Sam Burns joins the leaders!

A wedge in hand for Rory McIlroy as he addresses his second on the first hole…and that’s absolutely perfect, pitching within a bin lid of the flag and pulling up just beyond it. A birdie opportunity, for certain.

Cam Young has 151 yards out of the bunker, his ball standing proud in the sand. That’s useful, too, with a longer length chance at a three nonetheless eminently makeable.

They have company, though – Sam Burns birdied the first and joins the co-leaders.

Masters round four

After a bogey at the first, Li Haotong gets back to where he began with a birdie at two. Shane Lowry has also bogeyed the first, wiping at his forehead in frustration after his par putt dribbles left of the hole.

Rory McIlroy and Cameron Young begin

Right then – it’s showtime. Our co-leaders are on the tee, each considering their clubs for what could prove a pivotal tee shot to start. It looks like a three wood for the American. And Cameron Young still makes the bunker! Some strike, but too far right and ended up sandy.

Rory McIlroy also shuns the driver. He finds the safe embrace of the fairway.

Justin Rose chips in!

Hello, Rosey! Some start for the Masters nearly-man, a delicate dance up onto the dancefloor and a smooth shimmy into the hole. To nine under he climbs.

Masters round four

The penultimate group of the day are ready to tee off, Sam Burns in white chinos and a light blue polo; Shane Lowry all in black.

Burns belts a three wood in the direction of the bunker, but seems to have come up short. How will Lowry fare? A quick pick-up of the tee suggests well, and it’s a pleasant start for the Irishman.

A hole-out eagle for Tyrrell Hatton on seven!

Aaron Rai did it earlier, and now Tyrrell Hatton has followed his compatriot in holing out from the seventh fairway. Too contrasting characters; two identical shots. An eagle gets the combustable Englishman to six under.

Masters round four

Justin Rose’s approach just scurries off the first green, though it’s not in too bad a spot with an avenue into the area in which the flag sits.

Jason Day has a tougher chip, unable to quite get through the ball enough out of the bunker and coming up short.

Scottie Scheffler birdies the first

Silence on the tee…but a mighty roar around the green! A birdie three at the first for Scottie Scheffler, picking up where he left off yesterday.

445 yards back down the Augusta plot, Justin Rose and Jason Day get underway having surely heard the statement of intent from the two-time champion.

Masters round four

Scheffler ends up nestled nearly out of the first cut and into the pines, but has the room to carve out an approach…and what an approach that is, lifting it wonderfully with loads of side to spin it back down towards the hole. He’s some golfer. What looked like a poor start now provides a fine opportunity for a fast start.

Li, conversely, wastes perfect position, coming up all of 20 yards short and off the green. Golf, it’s a funny sport.

Scheffler off line to start

The silence tells the story on the first tee as Scottie Scheffler loses his opening drive to the right. He’s lucky to end up beyond the bunker but it’ll be a little tricky to access the pin from out there.

No such issues for Li Haotong, who fades his drive perfectly. Off they stroll.
