Maple Leafs recall goalie Dennis Hildeby from AHL on emergency basis
Hildeby’s recall comes two days after Anthony Stolarz was injured by a puck to throat during warmups ahead of a loss to the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
Stolarz briefly visited the hospital before being released.
Hildeby, 24, has appeared in 19 games with the Maple Leafs this season, posting a .912 save percentage and 2.84 goals-against average. He’s enjoyed similarly strong results with the Marlies at .901 and 2.54 over 17 games.
The Maple Leafs are back in action Tuesday when they visit the Boston Bruins.
