Man City player ratings vs Forest with one 8/10 as Erling Haaland struggles

Manchester City struggled in their Premier League game with Nottingham Forest and were twice pegged back to draw 2-2

Manchester City wasted an opportunity in the Premier League title race as they were held to a 2-2 draw by strugglers Nottingham Forest. Antoine Semenyo gave the Blues a lead to take into half-time but Morgan GIbbs-White stunned the Blues in the second half with an inventive equaliser.

With plenty of time left, City worked their way back in front as Rodri headed home from a Rayan Ait-Nouri corner to put City back into the driving seat. However, Elliot Anderson lashed home from outside the box to level again for Forest.

City applied pressure in the final minutes but were unable to get themselves back in front and fall two more points behind Arsenal. Here are the player ratings from the Manchester Evening News.

Donnarumma: Made a number of decent saves to keep City ahead, and could do nothing when he was bamboozled for the first. 7

Nunes: Didn’t do enough going forward when he was on the ball and was also a bit slack with his marking at the back. 5

Guehi: Wayward with a surprising number of his balls up the pitch and needed Dias to cover at points, with Anderson having lots of space for his goal. 6

Dias: Can probably consider himself unlucky given how unexpected the touch was from Gibbs-White, and was excellent otherwise. 7

Ait-Nouri: Covered the pitch well and an excellent corner for Rodri to score from. An essential part of the team. 7

Rodri: Scored a thumping header but struggled to keep up with the pacy Forest midfield at times and missed a chance to clear when Anderson scored 6

Silva: Full of industry and went close to scoring when he drew a good save from Sels in the second half. 7

Cherki: City’s best player, setting up Semenyo for the goal and playing a number of inviting balls through all game that weren’t capitalised on. 8

Foden: Played in fits and starts but was unable to really influence the game and hooked on the equaliser. 6

Semenyo: Another start, another important goal. It was really well-taken but he struggled to stay involved in the game. 7

Haaland: He didn’t look as sharp as he can be after his recent injury and couldn’t get any clear chances. 6
