‘Love Island USA’s Huda Mustafa slammed with temporary restraining order after boyfriend’s ex accuses her of threatening their son

Huda Mustafa is living up to her title as one of Love Island USA‘s most controversial islanders. The content creator, who starred in the Peacock show’s seventh season, has reportedly been hit with a temporary restraining order after allegedly threatening her boyfriend’s young son.

According to court documents obtained by Page Six, Mustafa allegedly broke into the home of Nicole Olivera, Louis Russell’s ex-girlfriend and baby mama, and threatened their 1-year-old son, Luka-Kai.

Olivera claims that Mustafa flew from North Carolina to Los Angeles on Feb. 20, “and threatened to jump off buildings, swearing on her daughter’s life that she was going to kill herself.” Olivera says that for 12 hours, Mustafa was making “terrifying and extremely mentally unstable threats” against herself, Luka-Kai, and her own 5-year-old daughter, Arleigh, whom she shares with her ex-boyfriend Noah Sherline. Per the docs, Mustafa allegedly returned to Olivera’s home again the next day, where she broke into the building and allegedly threatened “to knock down our doors.”

A judge signed off on a temporary restraining order, which bans Mustafa from getting within 100 yards of Olivera, her son, or their Los Angeles home. There is a court hearing scheduled for April 3.

Mustafa began dating Russell, who appeared in Netflix’s Too Hot To Handle in 2023, after her run on Love Island USA last summer. While they made their red carpet debut at the Weapons movie premiere, Mustafa infamously refused to speak about their relationship at the Love Island USA Season 7 reunion, blaming Netflix for keeping her quiet because, at the time, Russell was a contestant on Perfect Match. Following the reports about the TRO, Russell posted a loved-up photo with Mustafa on his Instagram Story, which he captioned, “My 👑.”

Mustafa’s time in the spotlight has certainly been marred with controversy. Her crash-outs on Love Island USA made her one of the most divisive stars of the last season, with half of viewers calling for a mental evaluation and the other half forming a devoted “Huda HQ” fanbase.

“There are so many people that freaking crash out alone at home and then they’ll sit there and be like, ‘I don’t really care,’” Mustafa told DECIDER in a July 2025 interview. “But God forbid I did it on national television. I’m sorry, at least I kept it real.”

The fitness guru was also the center of a racism controversy in October 2025 when, during an Instagram Live, she laughed at a caller who directed a racial slur at her Love Island USA co-star Olandria Carthen. The shocking moment cost Mustafa her partnership with Huda Beauty, prompting her to post an apology to Carthen.

“Olandria – it is now clear that this comment was targeted at you, and I apologize for my immediate reaction,” she wrote. “My reaction in that moment came from being caught off guard, not from finding the word or situation funny. It was a nervous, uncomfortable reaction that I recognize was inappropriate.”
