Two men are dead after a pickup truck and another vehicle collided on Highway 11 south of Lac Du Bonnet on Tuesday morning.
Officers were sent to the crash site, near Highway 11 and Road 84 North, shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday, Manitoba RCMP said in a news release.
Police said a pickup truck was driving on the highway when a vehicle driving in the opposite direction lost control. The two vehicles collided.
Both the driver and the passenger in the other vehicle — a 71-year-old man and a 66-year-old man, both from Lac Du Bonnet — have died, police said.
The pickup truck’s passenger, a 69-year-old woman, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the release said. The 71-year-old Beausejour man who was driving the truck was not injured.
RCMP said road conditions and heavy snowfall may have been a factor in the collision. Police are still investigating the collision, alongside a forensic collision reconstructionist.
