Saudi Arabia also sharpened its warnings to Iran, telling the country’s capital on Monday that it would be the “biggest loser” if it continues to attack Arab states. That statement came after a drone attack apparently targeted the Shaybah oil field.
Here is the latest on Monday:
Iran firing cluster munitions at Israeli cities
The Israeli military said Iran has been using cluster munitions against the country on a “nearly daily basis,” a spokesperson said Monday.
The spokesperson said Iran had fired similar missiles at Israel during a 12-day war in June 2025.
Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani said that the cluster munitions fired so far have targeted Israel’s most “densely populated civilian areas” in Jerusalem and central Israel.

A cluster munition is a bomb that opens in the air and releases smaller “bomblets” across a wide area.
The bomblets are designed to take out tanks and equipment, as well as troops, hitting multiple targets at the same time.
Israel carrying out strikes in Beirut
Israel said it conducted airstrikes in Beirut.
Earlier Monday, the Israeli army said it would target Hezbollah-linked financial institution al-Qard Al-Hasan.
It repeated the warning to residents of Beirut’s Dahiyeh suburb to flee.
Israel said Hezbollah uses al-Qard al-Hasan to finance its military activities.
Smoke billowed over Beirut after the attacks. The first strike destroyed a building housing an office of al-Qard al-Hasan in Chiyah.
Last week, the Israeli military targeted several branches of al-Qard al-Hasan in southern and eastern Lebanon.

Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, came under Iranian attack Monday, with two people hurt by shrapnel from interceptions, authorities said.
Drones fired toward Saudi Arabia
A concentration of drones fired toward Saudi Arabia early Monday, just hours after an attack that killed two Bangladeshi nationals in the kingdom.
The Saudi Defence Ministry said it intercepted drones in the Jawf region as well as the Shaybah oil field.
An attack in Kharj late Sunday killed two Bangladeshi nationals and wounded 12 others.

Is Iran’s supreme leader wounded?
Iranian state television has reported on Mojtaba Khamenei as the new supreme leader, but they also noted he was wounded in war.
State television described Khamenei as “janbaz,” or wounded by the enemy, in the “Ramadan war,” which is what Iranian media have referred to as the current conflict.
However, it was later suggested that the wounding could have occurred during his service in the 1980s Iran-Iraq war.
Khamenei’s father and his wife were killed in the Feb. 28 Israeli airstrike in Tehran. The younger Khamenei has yet to be seen since the war began.
He was announced as Iran’s new supreme leader on Monday.
