IPL 2026: RCB player ratings vs CSK as blistering batting leads Patidar and Co. to second successive win

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lost their third successive game in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday, April 5. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) beat them by 43 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, marking their second win on the trot.

Rajat Patidar lost the toss, but a splendid batting display in the second half of the first innings took RCB to an above-par 250/3. CSK fought hard in the chase, but they were always going to fall short.

On that note, here are RCB’s player ratings from their IPL 2026 clash against CSK.

Phil Salt: 7.5/10

Salt wasn’t at his fluent best, but he played an important knock. He put away anything loose that was in his arc.

Virat Kohli: 6.5/10

Kohli was troubled at times by the CSK seamers and was even given a lifeline by Shivam Dube. He made 28 before being dismissed by Anshul Kamboj.

Rajat Patidar: 9.5/10

Patidar was in spectacular nick and wasted no time in getting going. The RCB skipper pasted six sixes and was excellent on the field as well.

Romario Shepherd: 4/10

Shepherd didn’t have much to do against CSK. He bowled an expensive over that went for 19 runs.

Tim David: 10/10

David was at his belligerent best in Bengaluru. He blasted eight sixes in an astonishing knock that took RCB to an imposing total and was rightfully adjudged the Player of the Match.

Jitesh Sharma: 9/10

Jitesh wasn’t required with the bat but excelled with his keeping against both pace and spin.

Krunal Pandya: 7/10

Krunal went for a few runs in his third over, but it was a good bowling performance from the left-arm spinner. He picked up two wickets and used the bouncer very smartly against left-handers.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar: 8/10

Bhuvneshwar was reliable on a surface that didn’t give him much help. He helped himself to three wickets.

Jacob Duffy: 7.5/10

Duffy’s two early wickets broke the back of the CSK chase. Although he was expensive thereafter, going for as many as 58 runs in his four overs, he had done his job by then.

Suyash Sharma [IP]: 8/10

Suyash came into the attack late but turned in an excellent spell. He went for just 21 runs in the four overs he bowled to CSK’s lower order, even picking up a wicket.

Abhinandan Singh: 7/10

Abhinandan did his bit quietly, scalping two wickets. He dropped a sitter.

Devdutt Padikkal: 9/10

Padikkal didn’t start quickly, but he made up for it to an extent. The left-hander made another half-century and showcased his lovely array of strokes on both sides of the wicket. He also took a couple of important catches in the slips.
