Various Honkai Star Rail 4.2 leaks have appeared online hinting at upcoming character leaks and Novaflare buffs for 5-star units like Firefly. This Stellaron Hunter governs over the Fire element, drawing power from the Destruction Path. She is a potent DPS capable of punishing targets with break damage, and a future rework could make her a viable pick in the current meta.

Honkai Star Rail: Firefly’s Novaflare buff details, as per leaks

HoYoverse has previously announced all the characters receiving Novaflare buffs in the Honkai Star Rail 4.2 update. Firefly being one of the chosen 5-star unit is rumored to receive a reworked kit:

Combat skill

• Basic ATK (Order: Flare Propulsion)– Deals Fire DMG to one designated enemy target.
• Basic ATK (Fyrefly Type-IV: Pyrogenic Decimation)- Restores HP by an amount equal to 20% of her maximum health. Deals Fire DMG equal to 200% of SAM’s ATK to one designated enemy target.
• Skill (Order: Aerial Bombardment)– Consumes 40% of her max HP and regenerates a fixed 60% energy of her max reserve. She additionally deals 200% DMG to a target. The ability advances her action by 25%.
• Skill (Fyrefly Type-IV: Deathstar Overload)– Heals 25% of her max HP and adds Fire Weakness to multiple targets. The ability also inflicts Fire DMG equal to (0.2 × Break Effect + 200%) of SAM’s ATK on an enemy and deals additional damage to adjacent enemies.
• Ultimate: Enters the Complete Combustion state, advances this unit’s action by 100%, and gains Enhanced Basic ATK and Enhanced Skill. While in Complete Combustion, her SPD increases by 60. Using Enhanced Basic ATK or Enhanced Skill boosts her Weakness Break Efficiency by 50% and Break DMG by 20%.
• Talent: The lower the HP, the less DMG received. When HP is 20% or lower, the DMG Reduction reaches its maximum effect, reducing up to 40%. During the Complete Combustion, the DMG Reduction remains at its maximum effect, and the Effect RES increases by 30%.

Traces

• Trace 1: While in the Complete Combustion state, SAM’s Break Effect increases by 25%. When using Enhanced Basic ATK or Enhanced Skill to inflict Weakness Break on a target, the Complete Combustion countdown is delayed by 10%.The effect is triggered a maximum of three times during each combustion state.
• Trace 2: Attacking a Weakness-Broken enemy will convert the Toughness Reduction of this attack into an instance of 100% or 50% Super Break DMG.Sam has to be in Complete Combustion with a Break Effect that is equal to or greater than 150% or 300% to trigger the effect.
• Trace 3: For every 10 points of SAM’s ATK that exceeds 1800, increases this unit’s Break Effect by 0.8%

Eidolons

• Eidolon 1: When using the Enhanced Skill, ignores 15% of the target’s DEF. The Enhanced Skill does not consume Skill Points.
• Eidolon 2: While in the Complete Combustion state, using either of the enhanced abilities to defeat a target or trigger a weakness break grants an immediate turn to SAM.
• Eidolon 4: While in Complete Combustion, increases SAM’s Effect RES by 50%.
• Eidolon 6: While in Complete Combustion, increases SAM’s Fire RES PEN by 20%. Her Weakness Break Efficiency is increased by 50% upon using enhanced abilities.
