Two massive storms slammed Hawaii and caused the worst flooding in 20 years leaving entire communities, including animal shelters, underwater. People and pets have lost their homes and were forced to flee with little warning.

Some were unable to escape the rising water. Rescue missions are underway in waist-deep water to save people and pets trapped in flooded areas.
