Talksport presenter reveals cancer diagnosis and urges others to get checked

Talksport presenter Danny Kelly has revealed he recently received a cancer diagnosis.

Speaking on air on Wednesday (18 March), the broadcaster admitted he is a “sick man”, warning listeners they will hear “a little bit less from me” as he undergoes treatment.

“Six weeks ago I went to the doctor with something going on with my eating, I thought it was probably acid reflux. Instead, it turns out that I have cancer of the oesophagus”, he said, adding that the disease “hasn’t spread inside my body.”

The 69 year old presents the Trans-Europe Express show, having joined Talksport in 2007.
