It’s Official: The Nikon Z6 III is the Perfect Camera for Many
When your cats are as spoiled as mine are, you’re always on the lookout for new and interesting ways to improve their health and lifestyle, whether it be a cosy new bed, exciting treats, or puzzles and games to keep their minds and bodies active. But when you live with a multitude of furry family members, such as the five cats and five dogs that share my household, you also start looking for ways to make your life a little simpler.
When we recently, finally, faced the reality that our home gym was doing nothing but gathering dust, we decided to turn it into something that would be guaranteed to get plenty of use – a dedicated cat room. No longer would I have to share my office with litter boxes and hairballs, and our cats would at long last have one room in the house where, thanks to a dog gate, they could chill out knowing they won’t be disturbed by our overly affectionate canines. So, of course, we wanted to kit out the room with feline-friendly furniture, including shelving, potted cat grass, and a wide range of beds for them to ignore in favor of cardboard boxes.
Next on the priority list were some products that were going to make our lives a little easier. Being already familiar with some of the amazing products from Oneisall, like their impressive range of grooming vacuums and water fountains, we decided to test out a few products to see how they stood up to the demands of our discerning clowder. So we have recently introduced the 3.5L Cordless Stainless Steel Pet Water Fountain, the 5L Automatic Cat Feeder, and the item I have been most looking forward to trying, the Oneisall Air Purifier for Homes with Pets.
Having used these products for a couple of weeks now, I’m going to share with you my reviews of these Oneisall Pet Tech Products, and let you know if they live up to the hype.
(SPOILER ALERT: They do!)
Let’s take a look at each of the products and how the Oneisall can help “Transform How You Pet.”

Fountain Final Verdict
I give the Oneisall 3.5L Cordless Stainless Steel Pet Water Fountain a solid 4.9 out of 5 stars.
Quality: 5/5
Design: 4.5/5
Value: 5/5
Ease of Use: 5/5
Cat Appeal: 5/5
From the outset, the features that stood out about this drinking fountain for me were the sensor setting, the virtually silent operation, and the fact that it can (but doesn’t have to) function cordlessly.
With many cats consuming a diet consisting partially, if not entirely, of dry kibble, it is extremely important that we encourage them to drink as much water throughout the day as possible. We have come to realize that there are a number of features that will encourage (or discourage) a cat from choosing to drink from the sources we offer, with bowl size and material, water quality and temperature, bowl location, and water motion being key factors. The best materials for both hygiene and feline preference are ceramic and stainless steel.
My previous experience with pet water fountains has shown me that cats definitely gravitate towards moving water, as this appeals to their instincts for selecting fresh, non-stagnant water sources. However, each of the fountains I have previously used has been fiddly, cumbersome, and a pain-in-the-butt to clean. What struck me immediately about the Oneisall design is how simple it is to put together and take apart, with very few nooks, crannies, or moving parts that are prone to developing slimy buildup.
Another bonus is the noise, or more accurately, the lack thereof. My previous cat drinking fountains have either had a noisy cascade or mechanical whirring, while the Oneisall fountain is basically silent. Unless you’re standing right next to it, you won’t hear a thing.
The water fountain is super easy to set up. It has a single stainless steel bowl with a compact pump design, and an easy to access filter means that cleaning is straightforward and involved absolutely no swearing on my part. There is a window on the front so you can easily keep an eye on the water level, and a warning light to let you know when the filter needs replacing. Hot tip – the light came on for me immediately after setting it up, but you just have to double-click the function button to reset!
You have the option of having the fountain run intermittently or on the motion-activated setting, which worked really well as soon as the cats started to approach. This saves the battery, which is charged using a universal USB-C cable. Because of the intermittent or motion sensor functions, the battery should last up to 60 days before you need to charge it again.
If your cats are well-behaved and not prone to chewing power cables, you also have the option of leaving the unit plugged in and having the fountain running continuously. Being cordless, you can position the bowl anywhere, which is great for cats that require a nice, quiet spot to drink at their leisure.
Compared with the price of similar drinking fountains on the market, the 3.5L Cordless Stainless Steel Pet Water Fountain from Oneisall sits in the mid-range, which is a great value for the quality of the product and features.
If I’m being pedantic, there are only two things that I have taken points off for; neither of them being about the function or quality of the unit.
The brushed stainless steel is purportedly resistant to fingerprints, but I did not find that to be the case. My only other gripe was that the master unit (the bit on the top) is an off-white color, and a true white would have been better. But, all in all, I was very impressed by this water fountain, and my cats are as well!
Next on my Journey of the Oneisall Tech Products is the Automatic Cat Feeder.

Automatic Feeder Final Verdict
The Oneisall 5L Automatic Cat Feeder gets 5 out of 5 stars.
Quality: 5/5
Design: 5/5
Value: 5/5
Ease of Use: 5/5
Cat Appeal: 5/5
On first impressions, the Oneisall 5L Automatic Cat Feeder might look a little clunky compared to some other, more streamlined competitors, but in my books, this was actually a positive. Many of the automatic feeders I’ve tried in the past seem to have spent a lot of time and money making sure their design had plenty of aesthetic appeal, but the result was often a tricky design that was neither easy to set up nor easy to maintain. Plus, it passed my personal test of “can I set it up without reading the instruction manual?”
Once I’d put the unit together (which took around 2 minutes), I did have to open the instruction book to find out how to program it, which was very straightforward.
Similar to the water fountain, the automatic feeder can be cordless (with 4 x AA batteries, not included) or plugged in with the USB-C cord and power adapter.
One very clever addition to the setup is the inclusion of a slot for a silica pouch inside the lid of the container to help keep the dry kibble fresh and moisture-free. Simple yet effective.
We know that cats are somewhat less demanding on our time than dogs, and being able to stretch their own legs and take themselves to the toilet means that they can often survive without their human servants for a day or two, provided all their needs have been met. With free-flowing fresh water and plenty of clean litter boxes, adding an automatic feeder into the mix is a great way to ensure your felines are receiving appropriately spaced meals while you disappear for an overnight trip.
But automatic feeders are not just for when you go away. If, like me, you have a house full of kitties whose stomachs start grumbling before the sun rises, you might appreciate having those starving mouths being fed while you stay warm and comfortable in bed.
What I loved about the programming is that it is set up in portions, so you can adjust the amount of food dispensed at different meal times (up to four separate meals per day), so you just need to work out how much each cat should be eating. And if you’re going to be away for a day or two, you can split their daily allowance into four separate feeds to make sure they don’t eat everything at once! There are two bowls – one on either side of the tower – with removable stainless steel inserts for easy cleaning.
Now here’s why I particularly like the way this unit is designed (but this isn’t quite following the designer spec!).
I have five cats. I could purchase three separate units, but when I feed my cats dry kibble, I do something called ‘scatter feeding’ – no bowls, just a large tray. This allows them to chase and forage, and slows them down so no one eats too much. This is the first time I have been able to adapt an automatic feeder to allow scatter feeding, and I am so happy!
I removed the bowls and simply placed the tower in the cats’ usual scatter feeding tray, so at meal times, the food was dispensed into the tray, and the cats could enjoy their meals at leisure. Do be aware that without the bowls attached, the unit is a little unsteady; this is not something recommended by Oneisall, it is simply something that I personally found really useful for my clowder. To solve the wobbly issue, I steadied the legs with some Blu-Tack (sticky-putty), but it’s important to be sure your kitty won’t munch on it!
The only other thing I would point out is that you can’t control the volume of your “here kitties!” voice message, so it’s best to err on the side of quiet unless you want to wake yourself up every morning!
It goes without saying (at least it should!) that this type of unit is only suitable for dry kibble, so don’t try stuffing your cat’s wet food into the tub. It will not end well!
Like the water fountain, the Oneisall Automatic Cat Feeder is very reasonably priced and very affordable if you need to purchase more than one to feed your household. I am a huge fan, and so are my cats.

Air Purifier Final Verdict
I gave the Oneisall Air Purifier an overall rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars
Quality: 5/5
Design: 5/5
Value: 5/5
Ease of Use: 5/5
Effectiveness: 4/5
You might remember that I was particularly excited to try out the Oneisall Air Purifier for Homes with Pets (yes, that’s what counts as excitement in my life!). The reason for this is that with five cats and five dogs, my house contains a LOT of pet hair, dust, and dander. Vacuum cleaning is, at the bare minimum, a daily ritual. Although I don’t suffer from allergies (thank goodness, given my career choice and number of pets!) I am extremely conscientious about keeping my home free of odors and allergens, and was hoping that the addition of an air purifier would take a bit of the load off.
The air purifier is neat, compact, and very unobtrusive, and I like that both sides are functional, effectively doubling the normal surface area. After a few weeks in operation, the filters had collected an impressive amount of dust and hair, though perhaps not quite as much as I had hoped. The fact that part of the filter is easily cleaned is a huge plus, as it means that you get a lot more bang for your buck with each filter replacement.
The unit is really quiet unless you manually turn the fan up, which I do not recommend, and here’s why:
In my excitement upon first unpacking the air purifier, I thought I would expedite things by turning the fan up to max. This did not end well for me. As I had positioned the unit in the room with my cats’ litter boxes, the strong air suction essentially drew the ammonia-laden air right out of the boxes and into the atmosphere, with highly unpleasant results! Lesson learned, I returned the unit to its original ‘automatic’ setting, and things improved within hours. So learn from me – just stick with the automatic setting, it knows what it’s doing!
I have noticed a reduction in the amount of fur wafting around the house, and have even managed to skip vacuuming on some days, so I can definitely see that the Oneisall Air Purifier for Homes with Pets would be a great addition to many pet households. For someone like me, with this many furry creatures, you would probably need something about ten times the size to see really dramatic results, or invest in at least five or six units to have dotted around the house. Now, if I’m being completely honest, at full price, that simply wouldn’t be an option for me, but with the multi-buy deals that Oneisall currently has going, it’s actually very doable!

Oneisall Final Verdict
I gave the Oneisall product line a 4.9 out of 5 stars!
I love my cats and take pride in my position as their carer and provider, but it’s nice to have a bit of help around the house to take a little of the burden away from time to time, especially if it means the occasional late morning and a little less house cleaning! What I really like about the range of products from Oneisall is that they are simple to use, are very reasonably priced, and they do what they say on the box, which is why I’m giving the range 4.9 out of 5 stars overall.
If you’d like to make your life of feline servitude a little easier too, you can head to Oneisall.com, or if you’d prefer, you can also find the 3.5L Cordless Stainless Steel Pet Water Fountain, the 5L Automatic Cat Feeder, and, the item I have been most looking forward to trying, the Oneisall Air Purifier for Homes with Pets on Amazon.
It’s been an exhausting day for everyone.
We were up an hour early to do the animals and then I drove to the airport to collect Flossie, who is taking over from Daisy (98 mile round trip).

Meanwhile, Ted went to the vet for his scheduled “dental” – he had to stay for the day and ten teeth were removed while the rest were cleaned. Poor thing. He’s just come home and seems relatively bright and is managing to eat soft food.
Anyway, I shall be sad to see Daisy go. Her help has been invaluable and she keeps me on track as to food, rugs and general looking after. I need that. And I think a wee dog will be miss her hugely as will her science companion, Monster.

So now it’s Flossie’s turn again – back to lugging buckets through the mud in hellish weather without a single complaint.

And she gets to work from home too during the weekdays, subject to the internet working.

Life goes on, apparently.

Whether it’s a curious puppy discovering the kitchen trash or a loyal companion getting too close to the stairs, every pet owner knows that moment of mild panic. Far from being a punishment, the right gate is a loving boundary—a simple tool for creating safe zones that give you peace of mind and your pet freedom to roam without worry. This approach is a core part of any good guide to dog-proofing your home.
However, a critical fact many don’t realize is that not all gates are created equal. The gate that works perfectly to keep a dog out of the kitchen without a door is often the wrong—and most dangerous—choice for the top of a staircase. The way a gate installs and the forces it must handle are fundamentally different depending on where you plan to use it.
Choosing the right one can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. This guide simplifies the process. By answering a few key questions about your home and your pet, you can confidently select from pet gates for secure spaces that ensure safety and blend seamlessly into your life.
When you start looking for a pet gate, you’ll immediately face the most important question: pressure-mounted vs. hardware-mounted? The answer isn’t about preference; it’s about safety and choosing the right tool for the job. Your gate’s location will determine which type you need, as one offers convenience while the other provides unmatched security.
A pressure-mounted gate is the ultimate in convenience. It works like a shower curtain rod, using tension to press against a doorframe or walls. You can install it in minutes without a single tool or drill hole, making it the perfect gate for a doorway between two rooms or for blocking off a hallway. Because they’re easy to install and remove, they are ideal for temporary situations or renters.
For a more permanent and sturdy solution, you’ll need a hardware-mounted gate. This type screws directly into your wall studs or doorframe. While installation requires a drill and a few minutes of work, the result is a barrier with maximum stability that can’t be pushed over by an enthusiastic pet. This makes it the go-to choice for high-traffic areas or for containing stronger, larger dogs.
This structural difference leads to a critical safety distinction. A pressure-mounted gate, held only by tension, can be dislodged with enough force. If that force comes from a pet pushing against it at the top of a staircase, the result can be a dangerous fall for both the gate and your beloved animal.
When it comes to the top of a staircase, convenience takes a backseat to safety. A pressure-mounted gate stays in place by pushing outwards. If a large dog leans on it or a curious pet pushes against it, that outward force can cause the gate to fail and come loose from the wall. This is a critical point of load-bearing failure—the gate simply wasn’t designed to hold back weight that is pushing it away from its supports. At the top of stairs, this failure can lead to a tragic fall.
This is where a hardware-mounted gate becomes non-negotiable. Instead of relying on tension, it is physically screwed into the solid wood of your wall studs or doorframe, creating a permanent and secure anchor. It’s like a miniature version of a real door, securely hinged to the wall. This physical connection ensures the gate can withstand pushing, leaning, and the daily wear-and-tear from both pets and people, eliminating the risk of it being dislodged. For an extra wide dog gate for stairs or any stairway opening, this is the only way to guarantee stability.
Beyond the mount itself, there’s another crucial safety feature: the swing direction. A properly designed dog fence gate for stairs should never swing out over the steps, as this creates a dangerous tripping hazard. The best gates are designed to swing open only one way—inward, over the flat surface of the landing. This small but vital detail ensures clear, safe passage and provides true peace of mind.
Taking a quick, accurate measurement is the single most important step before installation. Guessing can lead to a gate that’s too loose to be safe or too wide to even fit. Getting it right is the first step in learning how to install a pet safety gate properly, and it only takes a minute.
Most people don’t realize that doorways and hallways are rarely perfectly square. To guarantee a secure fit, follow this simple process:
If your measurement is wider than about 40 inches, a standard gate won’t be enough. This is where you’ll need to look for wide pet gates or models that offer extensions—separate panels that click into place to expand the gate’s reach. This ensures even a tall, wide dog gate remains stable and secure.
When you’re trying to contain a Great Dane or a determined Golden Retriever, the gate’s material matters more than anything. For indoor gates for big dogs, steel is the undisputed champion. Unlike plastic that can crack under pressure or wood that can be chewed into splinters, a heavy-duty steel dog gate can easily withstand pushing, leaning, and determined force. It’s the difference between a temporary suggestion and a true security barrier, making it the ultimate chew-proof metal dog gate.
Beyond sheer strength, you also have to account for your dog’s athletic ability. A standard-height gate might look more like a fun hurdle to a jumper. For any large breed, an extra-tall gate measuring 36 inches or more is a necessity. This added height creates a formidable visual and physical deterrent, signaling to your dog that this boundary isn’t one they can easily conquer with a single leap.
Finally, the best gate for a large dog also accounts for their intelligence. Many dogs are clever escape artists who can figure out simple latches with a few nudges of their nose. To prevent this, look for a gate with a dual-locking mechanism. These systems require two separate actions to open—like sliding a button while lifting the handle—a motion that’s simple for a person but nearly impossible for a paw to replicate.
A secure gate is essential, but it’s useless if it’s a constant hassle to live with. A pet gate with walk through door changes everything. Instead of having to perform a balancing act to step over the barrier every time, a walk-through design allows you to open a small door and pass through easily. This feature is a lifesaver in high-traffic areas, letting you carry groceries, laundry, or a child without navigating an obstacle course in your own hallway.
Forgetting to latch the gate behind you can defeat its entire purpose. To prevent this common slip-up, many modern gates include an auto-close feature. After you walk through, the door gently swings shut and locks securely on its own. This hands-free convenience offers priceless peace of mind, ensuring the secure zone you’ve created stays that way. It’s a smarter, more reliable system than a basic manual or retractable door barrier for pets.
While automatic closing is great for security, sometimes you need the path to remain clear. That’s the purpose of the stay-open function. On most gates with this feature, pushing the door to a full 90-degree angle will lock it in an open position. It’s incredibly helpful for those times you’re making multiple trips back and forth, allowing for temporary, unimpeded access without needing to remove the gate.
These thoughtful additions are what transform a simple partition into a stylish and modern dog gate that seamlessly integrates into your home and daily routine.
The material a gate is made from goes far beyond aesthetics; it directly impacts its strength, longevity, and suitability for your specific pet. When considering wood vs metal pet gates, or even plastic options, think about your pet’s size, temperament, and habits. A determined chewer has very different needs than a calm senior dog, and the right material choice is your first line of defense.
For unmatched strength and security, nothing beats metal. A steel dog gate is the gold standard for durability, standing up to the strongest, most energetic, or most anxious pets without bending or breaking. It’s the only truly chew-proof option, making it the best investment for homes with teething puppies or powerful breeds. The powder-coated finish on modern metal gates also resists rust and scratches, keeping them looking sharp for years.
Many homeowners are drawn to the classic, warm look of a pet wooden gate. Wood can blend beautifully with your home’s furniture and trim, offering a softer, more decorative appearance than metal. However, this aesthetic comes with a tradeoff: wood is vulnerable. A persistent chewer can cause significant damage, splintering the wood and compromising the gate’s integrity. They are best reserved for calmer pets who are not prone to gnawing.
Finally, there’s the plastic dog gate. These are typically the most lightweight and affordable options, making them easy to move and set up for temporary use. While convenient for small, gentle pets or for blocking off a space for a short time, plastic is the least durable material. It’s not recommended for strong dogs who could easily push it over or for puppies who could chew it apart.
What happens when you don’t have a standard doorway to block? Modern homes with open floor plans and extra-wide archways present a unique challenge that standard gates cannot solve. Fortunately, specialized gates are designed precisely for these tricky spots.
For these sprawling spaces, an extra long pet gate with multiple panels is the perfect solution. These configurable gates act like a flexible fence, allowing you to connect as many sections as you need to span a large opening. You can even angle them to create a custom enclosure or navigate an awkward corner, providing a secure, hardware-mounted barrier that looks like a seamless part of your home.
The same need for specialized gates extends to the outdoors. You can’t simply move an indoor gate outside to your deck or porch and expect it to last. An indoor wood gate will warp and rot, while an unprotected metal gate will rust. A proper outdoor dog gate for deck use must be made of weather-resistant materials, like powder-coated steel, which is specifically treated to stand up to moisture and sun without degrading.
If you need an even more flexible solution without any installation, a freestanding pet barrier for open floor plans is a game-changer. These sturdy, multi-panel dividers stand on their own and can be set up in seconds to temporarily block off a section of a room. They are perfect for creating a pop-up playpen or keeping pets away from the dining table during a party.
This simple checklist will help you confidently assess any space in your home and understand the critical safety features that truly matter. Just ask yourself these five questions:
A pet gate is more than just a barrier; it’s a fundamental tool for dog-proofing your home that creates peace of mind. By answering the questions above, you are now equipped to select a gate that ensures safety and fits seamlessly into your life. Collections like the Talis-us Collection are designed around these very principles, offering the durable materials and essential features you need for a safer, more harmonious home with your beloved pet.

The National Park Service has announced that most visitors to several of America’s most popular national parks will no longer need advance reservations to enter in 2026. The agency said the updated access plans aim to expand public access while maintaining safety during peak travel months. The changes affect National Park Service sites, including Arches National Park, Glacier National Park, and Yosemite National Park, which will no longer require a reservation.
“Our national parks belong to the American people, and our priority is keeping them open and accessible,” said Kevin Lilly, Acting Assistant Secretary for Fish, Wildlife and Parks. “We’re expanding access where conditions allow and using targeted tools only where necessary to protect visitor safety, maintain emergency access and preserve these extraordinary places for future generations.”
The decision marks a shift for parks that adopted timed-entry systems during recent years to manage surging crowds.
Under the new plan, Arches, Glacier, and Yosemite will not require broad timed-entry reservations next summer.
Arches will eliminate its timed entry system entirely. Officials encourage visitors to arrive early, explore lesser-known areas and consider visiting after dark. The park is an International Dark Sky Park and promotes nighttime visits. I guess this is great news for astrophotographers!
Glacier will drop its park-wide vehicle reservation requirement. However, it will continue targeted congestion management along high-demand corridors such as Going-to-the-Sun Road. Officials will manage parking at Logan Pass and may temporarily divert vehicles if safety thresholds are reached.
Yosemite will also remove its advance reservation requirement, including during peak summer and the popular February to March firefall period. The park plans to rely on real-time traffic management and additional seasonal staff.
Parks not using timed entry said they will monitor congestion and may introduce short-term traffic controls if conditions require it.
The move will likely please those who prefer spontaneous travel plans. It may also benefit photographers who rely on flexible timing to capture changing weather and light. I fall into both of these groups, and if I were in the US, I’d certainly be thrilled about this news. Well, on the one hand.
On the other hand, these changes could intensify overcrowding in fragile environments. Not only will it be harder to get the shot for photographers, but more importantly, the overall impact of overtourism could be harmful for the natural world.
In recent years, overtourism has become a serious issue, and the solutions are numerous and pretty creative. In Japan, officials in Fujikawaguchiko installed a large black screen to block a popular photo view of Mount Fuji after residents complained about traffic and litter. Needless to say, tourists later poked lens-sized holes through the screen to continue taking photos.
In Venice, a group of selfie-taking tourists ignored safety instructions and capsized a gondola near St. Mark’s Square. No one was injured, but the episode highlighted tensions between tourism and safety.
The issue is not limited to international hotspots. Even lesser-known parks have struggled to cope with demand. I guess we can thank social media for that, as they largely contribute to even the most random places getting popular seemingly overnight.

For photographers, the end of reservations could cut both ways. On the one hand, fewer restrictions mean easier access. Timed-entry systems often required planning weeks in advance. Missing a reservation could mean missing rare events like the “firefall” in Yosemite.
On the other hand, packed trails and crowded overlooks can make serious photography difficult. Commercial shooters face added complications. Without model releases, images filled with strangers often cannot be licensed.
Some photographers say the process matters as much as the final image. They describe the satisfaction of scouting, waiting for first light, and capturing a scene in quiet solitude. That experience becomes harder when dozens or even hundreds of visitors gather at the same railing.
As I mentioned, there is also an environmental cost. Trampled vegetation, illegal parking and off-trail shortcuts can damage sensitive landscapes. Increased traffic strains the infrastructure that was never designed for millions of annual visitors. What’s more, people will also risk their lives to get an Instagram-worthy selfie, sometimes resulting in injuries and even deaths.
The Park Service said it will expand seasonal staffing and use temporary traffic management when parking areas reach capacity. Whether that will be enough remains to be seen.

Felines can sometimes have unique traits that can set them apart from each other. This specific video captured an adorable Bengal cat using his cute little “spring paws” every time something spooks him out.
The owner of the kitty took to Instagram to share the Reel on Instagram through the account @threenawtycats. The clip has received a lot of attention from viewers from different parts of the world. The video has garnered more than 1K likes as of now.
An adorable video on Instagram showcased a charming Bengal cat jumping instantly using his unique paws whenever something spooks him out. The video has been winning hearts on social media as people are in love with the furbaby’s unique trait. In the caption of the post, the cat parent humorously wrote, “Spring paws to action.”
The Instagram Reel began by giving a closer look at the cute Bengal cat, who was enjoying a ride on his wheel. In the meantime, the text written over the clip read, “How fast my bengal reacts everytime he gets spooked.”
As the video went on, viewers could witness the cat getting spooked quite often. And, as soon as he feels scared of something or someone, the furbaby does not even waste a second and jumps with the help of his “spring paws.”
It happened while he was on the wheel. It also happened when the Bengal cat saw his furry sibling coming his way. He also got spooked when his feline sibling approached him from the back.
People have been expressing their views and thoughts on the Instagram video in the comments section. One fan wrote, “That cat can really jump so flexible of a cat.” Meanwhile, another could relate to the situation. “Omg this is how my Nico is (emoji) every little thing makes him jump out of his skin,” they noted.
