Carmen Electra shares the simple approach to romance she swears by in her 50s

Carmen Electra shared what she believes is the key to lasting romance.

While speaking with Fox News Digital at Steven Tyler’s 7th annual Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party, the 53-year-old actress reflected on how to keep the spark alive in relationships.

“You definitely wanna keep the spark alive, but you wanna be with someone that you love being with because that’s definitely what’s gonna keep the spark live anyway, right?” the “Baywatch” alum said.

“So someone that — you just love their spirit, you love who they are as a person, someone that’s not a downer. I like artists, like people that are into art, whatever their art may be, all that good stuff.”

The “Scary Movie” star has previously been involved in a string of high-profile relationships. In the early 1990s, Electra was romantically involved with Prince, who also helped launch her music career.

Prince discovered Electra, who was born Tara Leigh Patrick, in 1991 and signed her to his Paisley Park label.

The late music icon gave her the stage name Carmen Electra and oversaw the release of her self-titled debut album in 1993. The two dated for a brief period before splitting but remained on good terms.

Electra later made headlines in the late 1990s for her whirlwind relationship and brief marriage to NBA star Dennis Rodman.

In 1998, the couple tied the knot in Las Vegas, but he filed for annulment after nine days of marriage. Electra and Rodman later reconciled briefly but finalized their divorce in April 1999.

In the early 2000s, Electra entered her longest and most serious relationship with Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro. The two married in 2003 and documented their relationship in the MTV reality show “’Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen + Dave.”  However, they separated in July 2006, and their divorce was finalized in February 2007.

After that marriage ended, Electra began a relationship with musician Rob Patterson, and they announced their engagement in April 2008. The two remained engaged for several years but never married and split in October 2012.

Over the years, Electra has been romantically linked to several other public figures, including Tommy Lee, Fred Durst, Colin Farrell, David Spade, Ryan Lochte and Simon Cowell.

In a recent interview with People magazine, Electra revealed she is single but expressed that she is interested in dating in 2026. While speaking with the outlet, Electra shared her dating dealbreaker and described what she is looking for in a potential partner.

“I don’t like liars,” Electra said. “It’s just really nice when you’re with someone [who’s] just really into you. I have had that before. It obviously didn’t last. But once you know what it feels like to really be with someone [who] is so there for you, you can’t undo that feeling. You know, it’s just beautiful.

“[I want] somebody that’s very romantic,” the former “Singled Out” host added. “I remember when I was dating Dave [Navarro], I was so not romantic, and he was teaching me how to be romantic, but now I am.”

During her interview with Fox News Digital, Electra shared her secret to feeling confident in her 50s.

My confidence, wow, just comes from trying to be the best person I can possibly be,” she said. “I’m a Taurus, so I’m very stubborn, but I love life, I love food, I love people, I love love, and I’m very passionate. And I’ll always be that way. So, that’s never going to stop.”

Last month, Electra, who played lifeguard Lani McKenzie in the hit series “Baywatch” from 1997 to 1998, slipped back into her iconic red swimsuit for a slideshow of photos that she posted on Instagram. The actress posed in the one-piece as she stood on a lifeguard stand while holding a red Rescue Can.

While speaking with Fox News Digital, Electra explained what inspired her to once again don the famous swimwear.

“I just wanted to put this suit on again and shoot,” she said. “2026 is going to be an amazing year, I think, hopefully. And I thought it would be fun. So, I just figured, ‘Let’s do it. Let’s put the suit on and get some photos going.’”

Electra, who reprised her role as Lani in the 2003 television film “Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding,” also addressed whether she would be making an appearance in the upcoming “Baywatch” reboot series, which was announced last September.

“I have not heard anything yet, but I’m definitely open to discussion,” she said.

Electra also teased her upcoming OnlyFans collaboration with another ’90s icon, Denise Richards. Richards joined OnlyFans in June 2022, shortly after daughter Sami Sheen launched her own account on the platform. Electra had debuted her account on the subscription-based platform one month earlier.

At the time, Electra told People that joining OnlyFans was “like a no-brainer.”

“I just felt like, ‘Yeah, I need to do this,’” she said. “I, for once, have this opportunity to be my own boss and have my own creative vision to share with my fans without someone standing over me, telling me, ‘Don’t do this, don’t do that. Cover up this.’”

Last week, Electra reposted a behind-the-scenes clip from her collaboration with Richards, who noted in the video that the two have never previously worked together.

“We’re doing this huge Valentine’s Day collab together, and it’s been really exciting,” Electra told Fox News Digital. “Denise, honestly, is such a sweetheart, and we had a lot of fun together.

“We’re in sexy lingerie, so definitely go to OnlyFans and check us out!”

Hundreds of thousands of people marched in Toronto on Saturday in support of protesters in Iran who want an end to killings in their country and government repression.

Demonstrators walked down Yonge St., in North York, during the massive rally chanting “King Reza Pahlavi” and drumming for regime change in the Islamic republic after violent crackdowns have resulted in at least 7,000 deaths and as many as 36,000 killed by government forces, according to activists and human rights groups.

On Friday, Toronto Police said they were preparing for an estimated 200,000 people to attend the march after 150,000 rallied at Sankofa Square in the downtown core two weeks ago.

But on Saturday police estimated 350,000 people ended up taking part.

“It’s hard to see that our friends and families in Iran are being kept in prison for no reason, being shot in the head for (using) their democratic voice,” Nima Najafi said at Saturday’s rally.

Najafi said he attended the Sankofa Square protest on Feb. 1 and the crowd at the rally in North York was twice as large.

“I had a friend who got shot in the head. He died. He was a pharmacist … a high school friend,” he said. “I had another friend who is imprisoned because he was a doctor treating patients.”

Similar protests also occurred in other major cities including Los Angeles and Munich as part of a Global Day of Action to support the country’s Lion and Sun Revolution.

Many marchers waved pre-1979 red, white and green Iranian flags featuring a golden lion, which was used before 1979’s revolution that saw the overthrow of the Pahlavi dynasty.

And many also carried images of Pahlavi, as well as photos of people killed in Iran, during the demonstration.

“I am so proud to be there today,” Pezhman Mehrabian wrote on social platform X of the march in Toronto.

“It is time (U.S. President Donald Trump), (Prime Minister) Mark Carney and other Western leaders recognize Iran’s Lion and Sun revolution and its only leader, (King Reza Pahlavi).”

Arash Karimi said he participated in the Yonge St. protest to show solidarity with unarmed civilians killed in Iran, and he called government crackdowns a “one-sided war against the people.”

“Every Iranian knows someone, relatives or friends, (who have been) killed,” he said.

Protester Amirali Ahzan said he hoped the unrest in Iran leads to political change that guarantees more rights for the people.

As a member of the LGBTQ community, Ahzan said he fled Iran three years ago fearing for his safety.

Homosexuality is a criminal offence in Iran.

“There are so many people like me who have been marginalized and criminalized,” Ahzan said. “I do want to stand up for them.”

Social media was flooded with videos and photos of demonstrators throughout the day that saw Yonge St. closed from Steeles Ave. to Sheppard Ave.

“The voice of freedom can’t be silenced,” one person shared online.

“Seeing Iranians standing shoulder to shoulder in Toronto proves that hope for a free, dignified Iran is still alive everywhere in the world. We stand together, for justice, for life, and for the future of our homeland.”

The rally in Munich was attended by more than 200,000 people, German news agency dpa reported.

Frustrated Iranians have protested their government since late December, sparked by an ongoing economic crisis that has sent the country’s currency into freefall.

While protesters were initially focused on Iran’s economy, demonstrators pivoted to calling for an end to Iran’s Islamic Republic, with some supporting the return of the ousted monarchy to power.

Iran’s government, which has cracked down on protests and implemented an internet blackout, said more than 3,000 people have been killed since protests broke out.

Gold eludes Canada in first half of Olympic Games – National | Globalnews.ca

MILAN – Halftime arrived, and Canada still had no gold medals at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.

Gold eludes Canada in first half of Olympic Games – National | Globalnews.ca

No gold by the end of Day 8 on Saturday marked the deepest a Canadian team had gone at a Winter Olympics without reaching the top of the podium since 1988 in Calgary, when the host nation was shut out.

“We would have preferred to see Canada win gold by now, so it’s not exactly where we want to be just in terms of the medal standings, but at the same time, no one’s panicking,” Canadian Olympic Committee chief executive officer David Shoemaker said Saturday.

“There’s a high degree of confidence among this Olympic team. We’ll see our gold medals, they’ll come, and our team’s poised and ready.”

Gold was also hard to come by four years ago in Beijing, where Canada accrued just four among its 26 medals. That was the lowest total since Lillehammer, Norway, in 1994.

The Canadian Olympic Committee and Own The Podium set matching or bettering Beijing’s 26 medals as the target for the 2026 edition.

With three silver and five bronze, Canada ranked 11th in total medals as of Saturday. Norway topped the table with 20 medals and 10 gold ahead of host Italy with 18 medals and six gold. The U.S. ranked third with 17 medals and five gold.

Canadians came agonizingly close to the podium’s top step in the first half of Italy’s Games.

On the same day, Eliot Grondin missed gold in men’s snowboard cross by three-hundredths of a second behind Austrian Alessandro Haemmerle, who beat Grondin for gold four years ago in Beijing by two one-hundredths of a second.

There was both glory and agony in those moments. Bronze medals produced memorable performances, too.

Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier, under pressure, executed a mesmerizing free dance, inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night, to land on the figure skating podium. Gilles was treated for ovarian cancer within months of the duo placing seventh in Beijing.

“We’ve had some incredible medal moments punctuated perhaps by one of my favourite Olympic memories ever, Piper and Paul in the ice dancing,” Shoemaker said.

“To see their emotion, a standing ovation, the emotion of Canadians all around, I don’t think I’ll soon forget the thrill I got from seeing them realize a dream.”

Moncton short track speedskater Courtney Sarault became Canada’s first multi-medallist with a bronze in the women’s 500 metres a day after helping her country take silver in the mixed relay.

At 35 years old, speedskater Valerie Maltais claimed her first medal in an individual long-track race with bronze in the women’s 3,000 metres. She’s among eight Canadian athletes on the 2026 team who made their Olympic debut in 2010 in Vancouver and Whistler, B.C.

The women’s hockey team reached the semifinals, and the men were 2-0 as of Saturday.

The men’s curling team of Brad Jacobs, Marc Kennedy, Brett Gallant and Ben Hebert opened with three straight wins before dropping a game Saturday.

There were strikeouts in the first half. The top-ranked man in the world of short-track speedskating was held off the podium twice. Montreal’s William Dandjinou led until the final lap of the men’s 1,000 metres and finished fourth. He was fifth in Saturday’s 1,500.

The women’s curling team of Rachel Homan, Tracy Fleury, Emma Miskew and Sarah Wilkes started 1-3.

It was an eventful first half for Canada as well. The women’s hockey opener was postponed a week after multiple players on Finland’s team tested positive for norovirus.

Captain Marie-Philip Poulin missed two games with a knee injury, including a 5-0 loss to the United States, but returned for Saturday’s quarterfinal win over Germany.

Decorated snowboarder Mark McMorris banged himself up in big air training and didn’t compete in that event. The triple Olympic medallist is good to go in slopestyle qualifying Sunday.

The men’s curling team was warned about Kennedy’s salty language in a game against Sweden.

The back half will be big for Canada with hockey and curling playoff games, the short-track team in pursuit of more hardware, Kingsbury competing in dual moguls Sunday, and Canada’s deep ski cross and freestyle ski teams in action.

Defending champions Maltais, Isabelle Weidemann and Ivanie Blondin posted the fastest qualifying time in the team pursuit in women’s speedskating. The trio races for gold on Tuesday.

Story continues below advertisement

The women’s short track team advanced to Wednesday’s relay final. Dandjinou continues his pursuit of Olympic hardware in the men’s 500 metres final Wednesday, as well as in the men’s relay starting with Tuesday’s semifinals.

“There’s lots of potential still within this team,” Shoemaker said. “Lots of great opportunities, lots of medal moments to come.”

Get ready for a new week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

A really busy week cosmically with the aftermath of Valentine’s, a New Moon in Aquarius plus a solar eclipse and the start of Pisces season, which is the finale of the astrological year.

Relationship echoes and reflections, closure and final conclusions, invigoration and innovation of thought and ideas.

Your mind might be whirring and stirring, working overtime to keep up with all of this mental processing.

So… let’s use the tarot to ask what is ending and what is beginning for you in this pivotal week ahead.

Aries

March 21 to April 20

Seven of Swords represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Aries for this week: Seven of Swords

Meaning: The end of the age of innocence when it comes to a person or situation that you truly hoped was going to treat you well, but deep down you’re realising it is not. Don’t panic or stress because this is a good thing.

Once you see this whole game clearly, you realise the role you’ve been designated, and you know it is simply not for you. This is something to step back from. And the even better news is that you can now divert and refocus your precious, wholesome, high-vibration energy into more aligned things that will bring you the rewards you deserve. Transfer your power consciously and deliberately.

Taurus

April 21 to May 21

taurus star sign
Knight of Cups represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Taurus for this week: Knight of Cups

Meaning: One romantic or deep friendship connection withers on the vine, while another one takes root and starts to grow to the point it becomes visible. So, don’t linger where your affections aren’t wholly reciprocated. You’re ruled by Venus and too loving and precious to waste being used in a dead-end relationship.

Know your worth. Know your needs and deal breakers. If this is a flawed romantic bond, move back from it. Others are queueing to get to know you. If it’s a friendship, simply invest with a different circle for a while. See what happens when your attention is elsewhere — that’s the real acid test.

Gemini
King of Wands represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Gemini for this week: King of Wands

Meaning: The end of one wild adventure and the beginning of another. You always have a million things on the boil so you’re not fazed by the decline of a project or purpose, because it only means there’s room for one more.

A goal you held is ending, maybe nearing completion or you’re realising it’s not as relevant or resonant as it once was. You adapt, you flex, you shift and pivot. A new adventure is calling, possibly linked to travel, creativity, education or lifestyle. Tune in, take charge, draft a plan and take a first step this week. One in, one out.

The Hanged Man represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Cancer for this week: The Hanged Man

Meaning: A major blockage is going to move the heck out of your way, at long last! And the key to it is not forcing things any longer, not even looking at it. Go off, do something else, be distracted… and magically not only will you care much less and think differently about this whole thing, but things will change without your glare of attention on it.

The limbo is over. The stagnation is done. So, get ready to leap into action because you’re making up for lost time and energy, it feels good to be moving again.

Eight of Cups represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Leo for this week: Eight of Cups

Meaning: You are ready to admit defeat. You are going to pull out of something that has not panned out. Your pride is dented ever so slightly, hence why you kept pretending all was well, but enough is enough. And, Leo, I applaud you because it takes guts to admit you’re wrong… and the Universe agrees.

The minute you cut off this dead wood, you will feel nothing but relief and liberation, and that renewed vibration will attract a slew of new opportunities, invitations, attentions, and attractions. You will end the week glowing and vibing on a high level! So get to it. Chop and change.

Five of Cups represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Virgo for this week: Five of Cups

Meaning: A period of mourning, grieving or regretting is coming to a close, and with it a sense of peace and ‘it is what it is and it’s okay’. You’ve changed, absorbed, processed, and accepted what has happened. This may have been something from long ago even — after all, the grief cycle is circular and eternal, right?

What starts now is a renewal of optimism, faith and self belief. You know you’ve endured a hardship, survived, and thrived. You feel stronger, wiser, more capable, and ready to flex those new muscles and test them out. Life doesn’t faze you. Get busy living.

Libra

Eight of Wands represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Libra for this week: Eight of Wands

Meaning: One social circle or connection, that has served you well and provided ample events, gossip, intrigue and opportunity, is withering on the vine. You sense things have shifted, the mood is different, the attention level is not what it was. All relationships and circles have a season… and many don’t last beyond it.

Recognise this and start to look about for a new circle or person or activity or hobby… keep your eyes peeled for where you’re being intrigued and called to next, because it’s already going to be in sight. Within two months, you will be firmly and happily embroiled in a new group, feeling wanted and rewarded, and that is just what you deserve. Accept nothing less.

The Lovers represents what is ending and beginning for you this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Scorpio for this week: The Lovers

Meaning: This card often signals a love triangle, a temptation, a distraction from the straight and narrow that is proving impossible to ignore. So, perhaps this week you will act on this impulse and find out whether the attractive new option is better, or not, than where you’re at. This might be in a relationship setting, might also be in work, family, home, or money.

Be mindful of what you’re trading or swapping, be aware of the consequences of disloyalty to any degree, act with fairness and integrity. What you do here will impact others. This is about where you fit in and serve, and maybe something is ready for refreshing or renewal, but maybe that is best done within the current parameters rather than escaping to new ones!

Tarot card for Sagittarius for this week: Page of Cups

Meaning: A fledgling friendship, flirtation, project or creative idea is moving from your imagination and fantasy realm into real life. The wondering is over… and the finding out is beginning. Will it stand up to pressure? Is it real? Can it work? Don’t stay in fantasy mode, move into action mode and answer these questions.

You are a unique character able to manifest your ideas and visions easily and with flair and style. You move effortlessly from the mental to physical realm, always armed with good fortune and optimism. Start this new ‘thing’ enthusiastically, breathe life into your imaginings…

Meaning: The end of a dry spell, a fallow period, a time of lack and abstaining. Abundance is back! You can have it all. So, stop worrying and focusing on what you haven’t got (enough of) and welcome in what there is in your vicinity. Be open-hearted and expansive. Say yes.

Suddenly, the tables turn and you find all manner of new invitations, openings and opportunities are coming at you, like a green light has been switched on (spiritually, it has). This is a week to build, prosper and achieve. Say yes to life.

Tarot card for Aquarius for this week: Queen of Coins

Meaning: You are pivoting from apprentice to master. You are stepping up and taking responsibility and leaving behind the phase where you got to ask all the questions… now you’re the one who has to answer them!

This might manifest as a promotion, new role, change in relationship or home dynamics, shift in a family bond. It’s like moving into adult/parent mode after childhood. That’s an empowering thing, and you’re ready to use your newfound confidence and accountability to make the decisions you think are shrewd and positive. Meaning: The end of singledom, feeling isolated or lonely, being estranged from someone or losing the thread of your most important relationship’s core. You are back in business.

The Two of Cups sees you falling in love, healing the rift, coming back together stronger than ever, and creating a lasting bond, mutually adoring, with someone dear to you. This is truly, possibly, your best ever Valentine’s aftermath. Lean in and be romantic and loving! Fall (deeper) in love and revel in Cupid’s afterglow of celebrations.
