The Cambs farm shop with a great café locals think is the ‘best in the UK’
It’s got a ‘lovely warm and relaxed’ atmosphere according to visitors
Spring is nearly here – and there’s plenty of farm shops and garden centres to visit across our county. One such farm shop has been given plenty of praise over the years, both for its café and its stock too.
The Gog is an award-winning food hall and farm shop just south of Cambridge, bringing together a butchery, delicatessen, cheese counter, greengrocer, and café. The farm shop works with producers across East Anglia and the UK, alongside its own Great Taste Award-winning creations made on site.
From dry-aged beef and artisan cheeses to seasonal produce, freshly baked bread and carefully chosen wines, everything is selected for flavour and quality. Open seven days a week, The Gog is a place to shop, eat, and discover.
It also has its own café, called The Shack. The café sources ‘outstanding’ produce from some of the UK’s finest suppliers, alongside the award-winning products made on site. The result is a seasonal menu that’s full of flavour, according to the farm shop.
It also hosts events, such as its popular Après Ski night. It’s got hundreds of brilliant reviews – with some customers even thinking it’s the best farm shop in the UK.
Local guide Simon Johnson said: “The best farm shop in the UK! Great place to meet socially too for a coffee, or to buy some high quality meat and cheese from the butchers and deli! Also had some top nights out here with friends and family at the Après Ski and the Sundowner events – great fun and food!”
Brenda Bol added: “1st time here. Stopped off for lunch after a hospital appointment to find a lovely warm and relaxed atmosphere and food was seriously good. Good place to shop for fresh foods. Easy parking. Will return.”
