Multiple people were injured in collisions throughout Calgary Saturday.

Calgary police say a woman in her 70s was hit by a car at about 3:35 p.m. while crossing a marked crosswalk in the Northland Walmart parking lot in northwest Calgary.

She was assessed as seriously injured and taken to hospital, but is currently in stable condition, police said.

In another Saturday afternoon collision, police said a man was struck by an Uber driver while crossing a marked crosswalk on 14th Street SW at about 4:10 p.m.

Road closures were put in place eastbound and westbound on 14th Street SW from 13th to 15th Ave Saturday afternoon as the investigation continued.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital and is in stable condition, police said.

The Uber driver stayed at the scene, and police don’t believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

Earlier Saturday afternoon, two people were injured in a collision on southbound Centre Street and McKnight Boulevard. It happened moments after another collision in the area at about 2:45 p.m.

The two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries and are in stable condition, while the driver was apprehended after attempting to flee the scene, police said.

McKnight Boulevard was closed in both directions between Fourth Street NW and Centre Street, and Centre Street was closed in both directions between McKnight Boulevard and Laycock Drive NE.
