One person has been taken into custody as investigations continue into a fatal shooting in Brantford on Sunday, police say.
Brantford police say the shooting happened around 8:15 p.m. near Erie Avenue and Gladstone Avenue.
In a post on X, police say officers responded to the area after receiving a report of a shooting.
“Upon arrival, officers located a man without vital signs. Officers have confirmed that the man had been shot and he was pronounced deceased at the scene,” police said.
In a subsequent post police said they have since made an arrest and taken a suspect into custody.
“Investigators believe the incident was isolated with no ongoing threat to public safety,” police said.
