The ‘beautiful’ park with axe throwing and a ‘lovely’ café

It’s an ideal spot for a day out with the kids

Just outside of Cambridge, is an idyllic park which makes for a great spot for a walk. Milton Country Park, in the village of Milton, makes for an ideal family day out with its café and opportunities to feed the ducks. Whether you want to enjoy a calm picnic, a stroll, or play some games with the kids, this park offers some beautiful scenery and open spaces in which to spend your time.

Milton Country Park, managed by Cambridge Sport Lakes Trust, features a playground, bike track, woodland, lakes and miles of accessible paths for outdoor enthusiasts. On the edge of the playground, two table tennis tables are available with bats and balls that can be borrowed from the park office, situated next to the café. The office also offers bird seed to buy for a small charge so visitors can get up close and feed the ducks and swans.

When lunchtime rolls around, head to Grounds Café for a lunch with a view. The cafe is right next to a lake, providing something nice to look at whilst tucking into something tasty. The menu includes homemade soups, toasties, paninis or sandwiches. Dogs are also welcome in Grounds Café.

Starting on April 3, families can join in with the park’s Easter Bunny Hunt to find all 10 bunnies hidden throughout the park in order to win an exclusive Easter medal.

Other optional activities that outdoor enthusiasts can book include paddle-sports like kayaking and canoeing or organised open water swimming sessions. Go Wild also offers axe throwing, adventure golf, and laser tag.
