An Amazon Prime Video Sport presenter was forced to remove her shoes during an interview with Wayne Rooney on Tuesday (24 February) for coverage of Newcastle United’s Champions League clash with Qarabag.

Alex Aljoe stood in her socks at St James’ Park, explaining that she’d originally opted to wear heels for the event but had to take them off on the pitch in case they damaged the surface.

“So my socks are now sodden here on the pitch at St James’ Park. I need a pair of those boots, don’t I?” before the pair continued their conversation.
