A band of freezing rain that passed through southeastern Manitoba made for a dicey drive on Friday morning.

Ice pellets sounded like hail on windows and vehicles as the system passed through Winnipeg in the early hours. It ended around 7:30 a.m. but left an icy, pebbled mess.

Environment Canada’s warning remains in place for the southeast corner of the province.
