Former Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa signed with the Atlanta Falcons after his six-year stint in Miami ended in March. The 28-year-old quarterback, who is set to start a new journey with the Falcons in 2026, is spending time with his family in the offseason.
The Falcons signal-caller’s younger brother, Taulia Tagovailoa, plays quarterback for the Houston Gamblers in the UFL. Tua showed support for his brother at the Gamblers’ game on Thursday.

Tagovailoa was released by the Dolphins after he passed for 2,660 yards with 20 touchdowns and a career-worst 15 interceptions in 14 games last season. He is expected to compete for the starting role with Michael Penix Jr. In Atlanta.

Falcons quarterback Tua Tagovailoa praised younger brother’s progression in UFL
The former Dolphins quarterback reflected on what he saw from his younger brother at the UFL game during an interview with ESPN.
“That was really cool, what they were doing,” Tua said. “Pretty easy for him, just hand the ball off. First play touchdown. Outside of that, I think this is an awesome environment for a lot of the guys I’ve played with and played against. I think that was something that’s pretty new for me to see.”
Tagovailoa compiled a 44-32 record as a starting quarterback in his six seasons for the Dolphins. Tagovailoa said that his performance “wasn’t up to the standard” in 2025 and looks forward to a “fresh start” with the Falcons.
