“That’s that ego bouncing around in his head” – Veteran Comments on Ric Flair’s Recent Statement About WWE

Retired professional wrestler Ric Flair is considered one of the greatest of all time. He began wrestling in the early 1970s and has held numerous titles throughout his illustrious career. He is deeply respected by his peers and fans worldwide. Furthermore, his daughter Charlotte Flair is continuing his legacy in WWE.

The Nature Boy signed with AEW in 2023. Although he is hardly seen on All Elite Wrestling weekly shows and pay-per-views, he is an important part of the company. The WWE Hall of Famer has partnered with several brands throughout his career. He was working with a popular clothing brand called Roots of Fight. However, this deal has reportedly ended due to the Stamford-based company’s involvement.

Flair was furious about this. He recently went on a social media rant, accusing World Wrestling Entertainment of ruining his legacy. He also praised Tony Khan in this post.

“I Paid Vince McMahon Back 800k When He Said He Would Forgive It. I Honored It. Fortunately, I Still Make 1 Million Dollars From The GREAT Ryan Fiterman @FitermanSports. 500k From Ric Flair Drip. And Thank God For @TonyKhan. What More Of My Legacy Do You Want To Destroy WWE? You All Grew Up Loving Me And I Set The Bar. Now You Are Trying To Kill Me And Diminish My Legacy. Thank You, But It Ain’t Happening. Nice Try. LFG!,” he wrote.

Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell responded to Flair’s statement on his Story Time with Dutch Mantell YouTube channel. He said that the legend’s ego has gotten to him.

“That’s that ego bouncing around in his head,” said Mantel.

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair showers Tony Khan with praise

In a recent November 2025 interview with Casino Beats, Ric Flair showered AEW co-founder and president Tony Khan with praise. He called the 43-year-old a ‘total gentleman’.

“I can’t say enough good things about him. He is fantastic, and he is just a total gentleman, and I think he legitimately cares about everybody. They’re not just a number to him. I think he legitimately cares about everybody that works for him,” he said.

The Nature Boy is currently 77 years old. Hopefully, he is enjoying an amazing retired life.
