Ducks clinch playoff spot for first time since 2018

The Anaheim Ducks are going to give their fans a long-awaited taste of playoff hockey.

The San Jose Sharks’ 3-2 win over the Nashville Predators on Monday locked up the Ducks’ first playoff berth since 2018.

The Ducks are third in the Pacific Division with two games left and still could get as high as first over their final two games.

Anaheim has made a big jump this year after hiring veteran coach Joel Quenneville in the off-season.

Cutter Gauthier has enjoyed a breakout season with 40 goals, doubling his output from his rookie campaign last year.
