Six players to miss Manchester United vs Leeds with four in contention to return
Manchester United take on Leeds United in the Premier League with a number of players ruled out of the Old Trafford clash for both teams on Monday night
Manchester United welcome Leeds United to Old Trafford on Monday evening as they look to secure their Champions League qualification push. Six players are set to be unavailable for the clash, with Michael Carrick and Daniel Farke being required to work around injury issues.
It has been more than three weeks since United were in action, when they drew with Bournemouth, but Carrick still does not have Matthijs de Ligt to call upon in his backline. The Dutch defender has been out of action since November and continued his rehabilitation during the club’s time without Premier League football.
Carrick will also be without Harry Maguire following his suspension for picking up a red card against the Cherries. He was sent off in the 78th minute at the Vitality Stadium for bringing down Evanilson, with the Cherries equalising from the subsequent penalty.

Maguire was charged with improper conduct by the FA, with the defender frustrated that a penalty was awarded. “So soft but that’s where football is at atm and I should know better,” the ex-Leicester star posted on Instagram.
Patrick Dorgu was involved in United’s Dublin training camp but is not yet ready to make his return from a hamstring injury. Lisandro Martinez is in contention to feature after being ruled out since February.
Speaking about Martinez during his press conference, Carrick said: “It’s just that call that we make. We wouldn’t be pushed into anything. I think it’s important that the boys are ready.
Sky Sports, HBO Max, Netflix and Disney+ with Ultimate TV package

Sky has upgraded its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to now include HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+ and Hayu, as well as 135 channels and full Sky coverage of the Premier League and EFL.
Sky broadcasts more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more with at least 215 live from the top flight alongside Formula 1, darts and golf.
“It’s as important as the next game always is, being the most important is the bigger picture. So that’s a decision that we’ll take.
“He’s back training, which is great, and back on the grass. But we’ve certainly got to make the right decision and make sure he’s ready.”
Leeds also have their issues with Anton Stach ‘definitely’ not available to face United after picking up an injury in the FA Cup. Joe Rodon is also out of action with an ankle ligament injury and, like Stach, is not expected back until May.
Dan James is out of action after an adductor strain before Leeds’ win over West Ham last weekend. Farke has a greater hope for three other players, however.
Noah Okafor, Jaka Bijol and Gabriel Gudmundsson are in contention to make their return, though the former two had not been involved in team training when Farke held his press conference.
