Darby Allin Says Major AEW Faction Is Cursed: “Everybody’s getting hurt”

Darby Allin has a huge challenge in the form of Andrade at Dynasty this weekend. He has been looking to earn that victory to fuel his momentum in All Elite Wrestling for a while. But hours before his anticipated showdown against the former WWE star, Allin gave his thoughts on a major AEW faction in one of his recent interviews.

The AEW star talked about his feelings on The Don Callis Family. The heel faction has been dominating the AEW roster for years now, and it has been a problem for some of the biggest stars in the company. Names like Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, and many others have taken a fight against Callis’ faction, and ended up injuring themselves.

Ahead of his showdown with faction member Andrade, Darby Allin hoped that he would not end up on the list of stars getting injured against Don Callis’ Family. Speaking with TMZ Sports, the former AEW TNT Champion called Callis’ faction cursed, highlighting that whenever someone tries to take them down, they end up hurting themselves.

“I feel that sh*t is cursed. Everybody that is in that family seems hurt in real life. Everybody’s getting hurt. I feel like, man, let’s just hope and pray that I can make it through The Don Callis Family without getting hurt because I would love to fight for the [AEW World] Championship. I’d love to do all this stuff. Right now, I can’t afford to get hurt. But there’s a curse going on in The Don Callis Family, so I’m trying to get done with it as fast as possible,” said Allin. The 33-year-old added that he is eyeing the AEW World Championship. Therefore, it can be quite expensive for him if he feuds with the Don Callis Family for a long time. As a result, he wants to end his business with the heel faction for good at the Dynasty pay-per-view this weekend.

Andrade sends a message to Darby Allin ahead of AEW Dynasty

Andrade has had his eyes locked on Darby Allin for the past week in All Elite Wrestling. The two stars will now collide in Vancouver in a high-stakes singles match at Dynasty pay-per-view. Ahead of their epic showdown, El Idolo sent a bold message to the former TNT Champion on social media.

Taking to X, Andrade said that he has no interest in squaring off with Darby Allin; he is only doing it as a favor to Don Callis. The former WWE star added that he is chasing the AEW World Championship, and that is the only thing relevant to him at the moment, not someone like Allin.

“You are Crazy kid!! @DarbyAllin You won’t change, kid! My eyes are still on the @AEW championship. I’m not interested in you. @TheDonCallis asked me for a favor! See you Sunday. You’re a good wrestler, but you’re not better than me!” Posted Andrade.

There is an interesting stipulation in the match: if Darby Allin defeats Andrade, he will become the number one contender for the AEW World Championship. It will be interesting to see whether Allin can get his title match or if El Idolo will go on to crush his dreams.
