Laura Cardoso created history by bowling a dream spell in a match between Brazil Women and Lesotho Women on April 9, 2026. It was the 14th match of the BCA Kalahari Women’s T20 International Tournament in Gaborone, where Brazil were up against Lesotho.
Brazil is majorly known for its dominance in the world of football, but thanks to Laura Cardoso’s spell against Lesotho, Brazil has become the talk of the town in the cricket world as well.
For the first time in T20I cricket history, a bowler took nine wickets in an innings. Yes! In a match, where the bowler can only bowl 24 deliveries, Laura managed to take nine wickets. She finished with dream figures of 9/4 against Lesotho, helping Brazil win the match by a giant margin of 189 runs.
Cardoso bowled three overs, of which two were maiden overs. She conceded only four runs and picked up the first nine wickets which fell in Lesotho’s innings.
