Thousands of people are expected to visit Elmira on Saturday to celebrate all things maple syrup. There will be pancakes, taffy and lots of sweet treats.

There will also be music, the mall of vendors along Arthur Street, a crafts and collectibles show, family fun area and sugar bush tours.

Kitchener Rangers vs. Soo Greyhounds

The Kitchener Rangers are gearing up for round two of the playoffs against the Soo Greyhounds.

The Rangers swept the Saginaw Spirit in the first round.

The first two games against the Greyhounds will be at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. then the team will head north for weeknight games on Tuesday and Thursday.

If a fifth game is needed, they’ll be back at The Aud next Friday.

Uptown Waterloo stores and restaurants will celebrate the spring weather this weekend with an egg hunt. There will also be caricature sketches, face painting, inflatable games and an immersive photo booth in the uptown area.

People can get a hard copy of a map to visit businesses to get treats and people are advised to BYOB – bring your own basket.

This is a 19+ event where people can try different beers, cocktails and drinks as well as dishes from vendors and chefs. There will be exhibitors, live cooking demonstrations and music.

Second Saturday Poetry Meet-up

Saturday 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Cambridge Public Library Queen’s Square branch

April is Poetry month and this program brings together poets who want to create together.

The free workshop will go over poetry structures such as limericks, pantoums and villanelle.

The library says to “Come with an itch: a subject or story that is under your skin and bend it into form bringing new life and meaning to your words.”
