“The truth is I miss many of them” – Ex-Barcelona star says he would love to return to Camp Nou
Former Barcelona star Pablo Torre has revealed that he would love to return to the club someday. Torre currently plays for LaLiga side Mallorca.
Pablo Torre played for Barcelona between 2022 and 2025, including a season on loan at Girona (2023-24). He left the club to sign for Mallorca in the summer of 2025 after a consistent lack of gametime. Torre fell far behind in the pecking order, with the likes of Fermin Lopez and Dani Olmo covering the attacking midfielder position. The 23-year-old made 27 appearances for Barca, recording five goals and four assists across competitions.
Thanks for the submission!
In an interview with RAC1 (h/t SPORT), Pablo Torre opened up about missing his time at Barcelona and expressed his desire to return to the club one day. He said:
“What I experienced there was a dream. I arrived young, you see the teammates I had, and when I left I can say that many are friends; I still talk to them. The truth is I miss many of them a lot, but that’s life. I wish them all the best and hope to return in the future.”
Barcelona sold 50% of the rights for Pablo Torre to Mallorca last summer, preserving the other half. The Catalans reportedly have the clause to buy the player back for €12 million for the upcoming transfer window and the next one.
However, it is unlikely that Barca will consider bringing Torre back, especially since their midfield is stacked with multiple options. Moreover, they will still be unable to guarantee Torre enough gametime, and they have multiple other priorities this summer, including purchasing a striker and a centre-back.
Rio Ferdinand showers praise on Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal for stance on racism
In an interview via Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United legend and pundit Rio Ferdinand heaped praise on Lamine Yamal, particularly for his stance on islamophobia and racism. He said:
“He’s made me love football again. (…) If we’re talking about the best player in the world right now, he has to be in that conversation. And you know what else I love about him? That he’s more than just a footballer.”
Ferdinand added:
“He’s using his voice right now to draw attention to anti-Muslim chants in stadiums. This is a kid who’s speaking out, you know? He’s not a veteran who’s been doing this for 10 years. He’s an 18-year-old kid who’s decided for himself to say, ‘I’m not going to tolerate that, it’s disrespectful, it’s out of line, it’s racist, and people need to know that.’ And I thought that comment was absolutely perfect in tone.”
Rio Ferdinand also quoted the Barcelona prodigy’s recent post about the Islamophobic chants heard during Spain’s friendly game with Egypt. Yamal was vocal about his criticism of the fans and took to Instagram to voice his concerns.
Meanwhile, Lamine Yamal has also faced racist comments hurled at him during multiple games in Spain. In Barcelona’s recent 2-1 league win over Atletico Madrid, chants about the Spaniard being “ugly” and returning to his Moroccan heritage were heard. The 18-year-old has not made any comments about the same as of writing.
