WrestleMania 42 match officially cancelled – Major star responds

WrestleMania is now less than two weeks away, and one of the biggest showdowns that fans were expecting would see El Grande Americano against the original masked WWE star.

Chad Gable and Ludwig Kaiser have had issues since the Royal Rumble, and it was clear that they were pushing for Mask vs Mask at WrestleMania. Instead, this appears to have been moved over to AAA, and now El Grande Americano has commented on being left out of the upcoming ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship.

This confirms the fact that the match will not be happening on the main card, despite the earlier teases.

Chad Gable hasn’t been seen on RAW since he was cursed by Danhausen, whilst Kaiser’s character has continued to appear on AAA. It seems that with WrestleMania edging closer, it’s clear that the Americano vs Americano match isn’t happening, and there could now be a boost to put Americano into the ladder match.

With just five men in the match, there could likely be a last-minute addition, and with Bravo and Rayo expected to be at ringside, it would definitely guarantee shenanigans.

WWE has clearly cancelled plans for a mask vs mask match at WrestleMania

It seems that the reason WWE cancelled the mask vs mask match could be because of how well Ludwig Kaiser has done with the character since taking over.

WWE’s plan could have been for him to lose and move on, but he’s become a sensation in AAA, and now they want to keep both men. Gable created the character and could have had the same level of success if he hadn’t been injured, but now WWE is left with a conundrum.

Adding Kaiser to the ladder match instead would be the best option since AAA doesn’t have a lot of representation at WrestleMania, and it would also make more sense to have six men in the match. It would also allow Rayo and Bravo to be part of the show and to interfere on his behalf to help him win the championship.

Dominik Mysterio was able to win the Intercontinental Championship and take it to AAA several times, so there’s a chance that El Grande Americano could do the same thing.
