Sanctum of Solace solution in Crimson Desert (Witch of Kindness)

The Sanctum of Solace is one of Crimson Desert’s many puzzles, where the Witch of Kindness wishes for you to cleanse a series of shrines. They all involve similar strategies: Find the Fusion Core, the Fusion Reactor, and put them into place. It’s finding these that can sometimes be a little tricky. They also require you to defeat swarms of enemies, like liberating any area in this game.

Sanctum of Solace also features an incredibly challenging boss in the form of Antumbra’s Staff in Crimson Desert, so you may want to come here and defeat the boss, and return later to cleanse the sanctum. If you’re looking to come out on top, we’re here to help.

Crimson Desert: Sanctum of Solace solution

Once the Witch of Kindness gives you the quest to clear the Sanctum of Solace in Crimson Desert, it will show up on your map, next to the “A” in Pailune on the map. There are several fast travel spots near here, if you’ve explored the greater Pailune region, that you can just glide down towards the Sanctum from. Like the Sanctum of Absolution, you will have to fight a boss here, one of the Antumbra’s line, the Antumbra’s Staff.

A magic-based boss, you’re going to want to dodge the spells, and parry any of its melee attacks you can. That way, you can open it up for big damage from your weapon. Or, you can be like me, and equip Darkbringer with Ator’s Orb, Shadow Claw, and Crow’s Pursuit, and just spam the R2 button and dodge. This fight is especially dangerous at low health because he begins teleporting around and swinging wildly. With some Palmar Pills and good food, you should be fine.

It may not be flashy, but I was able to hit him consistently. Winning grants you an Abyss Artifact, and a hint at where the next fight lies. We can worry about that later though, because it’s time to clear this place out and start solving the Sanctum of Solace in Crimson Desert.

After you clear the boss, return to the area where you defeated him, and climb the tall tower. You’re looking for a patch of bricks that looks like the image above. Hold onto it (L2) and use Force Palm to activate the secret door. It’ll swap you to the interior, where you can open a chest. You will find the Icewing Plate Boots and a Palmar Pill.

Step 1: Find the Fusion Core

From the Sanctum of Solace puzzle in Crimson Desert, you’ll find some stairs that lead down, and below, there’s a little frozen rectangle of water. It’s just a strip of ice that you can stand on. If you drop down into that area, and look around, you’ll see a large crack in the wal.

Go in there, and before long you’ll see the Fusion Core, blocked off by a series of spears. Just get close to the spears, aim your grapple, and attach it to the Fusion Core. You can pull it right through the bars, and into your Kuku Pot. l

Step 2: Find the missing Fusion Reactor

Head back the way you came for the Fusion Core of Crimson Desert’s Sanctum of Solace, and you’ll find a dimly lit area you can run into straight ahead. You will find the Fusion Reactor here, so grapple it and throw it into your Kuku Pot.

Step 3: Restore the device

Return to the puzzle area proper, and pull out the Fusion Core. Locate the empty square slot like you’ve done time and again, and line the cube up with the slot. Use the Force Palm to slot it in. Now all you have to do is fix the Fusion Reactor. Look above you to find the one pillar that’s broken, and retrieve your Fusion Reactor from the Kuku Pot.

You’ll want the Fusion Reactor stone to look similar to where we’ve positioned it in the image above. You’ll see little leaves swirl around it to indicate it’s done correctly. Then just climb onto it, jump, and Force Palm to slot it in!
