3 times fans attacked wrestlers and paid for it


Wrestling fans form the heart and soul of the industry, and often have a huge part in creating big moments. However, there have been several cases of fan participation going wrong.

Recently, El Nino Hamburguesa was fired from AAA for elbowing a fan after sitting on him in a video that went viral. While wrestlers are discouraged from striking fans in any capacity, there have been instances where it has happened. The same can be said about fans attacking wrestlers.

Some fans, for one reason or another, have been part of infamous incidents where they have ended up attacking wrestlers. With that in mind, here are a few instances where fans to attack wrestlers, but were ultimately shut down swiftly.

#3. A fan recently tried to st*b indie wrestler Krule

Recently, a bizzare situation took place at a Ruthless Pro Wrestling show where a member of the audience tried to st*b one of their wrestlers, Krule, with a knife. The masked wrestler was facing SHLAK in a singles bout, but was rushed by a fan with a knife.

However, the situation was diffused after several other members of the locker room rushed out to the ring to confront the audience member.

The attacker lost his knife in the scuffle with the others, and was forced to retreat. It is unclear whether the knife pierced Krule’s skin, but the situation was intense to say the least. Videos of the situation have become viral, with blood visible on the bodies of the other wrestlers beating the attacker.

#2. Seth Rollins was attacked by a fan in 2021

On an episode of WWE RAW, Seth Rollins was shockingly attacked by a fan. The 24-year-old fan jumped the barricade and brawled with the former World Heavyweight Champion before he was taken away by security.

Rollins reportedly suffered a bruised lip, but refused medical attention. He has since spoken about the issue, and surprisingly claimed that he felt sad about the fan and hoped they got the help that they needed. The attacker was charged by the police, and prosecuted under several sections.

Thankfully, Rollins was able to walk away on his own and didn’t suffer any serious injuries. The WWE cameras didn’t capture the incident, but fans did.

1. Bret Hart and Natalya were tackled at the Hall of Fame

WWE legend Bret Hart and his niece, Natalya, were tackled by a 26-year-old fan at the 2019 Hall of Fame ceremony. Hart was at the ceremony to be inducted into the Hall of Fame for a second time, on this occasion, as a member of the Hart Dynasty. However, the night didn’t didn’t go smoothly due to the sudden attack from the audience member.

Thankfully, security and other wrestlers in attendance intervened quickly and were able to ensure that neither of the two suffered any serious injuries.

The attacker was also charged with criminal trespassing and assault. Hart managed to continue his speech, albeit after a brief interruption. The attacker reportedly had a history of stalking and socially inappropriate behavior.
