“Who gives a sh*t?” – Dana White addresses alleged failed negotiations with Jon Jones for UFC White House card
Dana White recently fielded questions about why Jon Jones wasn’t competing on the UFC White House card and reiterated his stance on the situation.
The UFC White House event is part of the America250 celebrations and will take place in June. The one-of-a-kind event has been touted as the UFC’s biggest ever showing, with fighters throwing down in an octagon placed on the South Lawn of the POTUS’ official residence.
While Ilia Topuria will go up against Justin Gaethje in a lightweight title fight in the headliner, Alex Pereira will face Ciryl Gane in an interim heavyweight title fight in the co-main event. Despite months of campaigning, Jones was left off the card, surprising many combat sports fans.
After the official fight lineup for the White House card was announced, Jones dismissed White’s claim that the UFC was never in negotiation with him for a White House feature and that he wasn’t part of their plans. He notably accused the promotion of lowballing the offer.

During a recent UFC Seattle post-fight presser, White was asked whether money was the reason Jones is not competing on the White House card. The UFC CEO replied:
“Who gives a sh*t? I’ve already talked about this a million times… Jon Jones knows exactly what happened, and this happens every week at the UFC. There are all kinds of negotiations going on. You think Jon Jones is clamoring to fight… We have to give this guy three fights a year if he really wants to fight. Legally, we have to give him three fights a year… And if we don’t, we have to pay him.”
Jones last fought Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 in November 2024, winning the fight via third-round knockout and successfully defending the heavyweight title. Jones later vacated the title and announced retirement in June 2025 before declaring himself available for a White House fight just a month later.
