A section of Dufferin Avenue in Winnipeg’s North End was closed on Saturday evening after a motor vehicle collision, police said. 

Dufferin was closed between King and Main streets, Winnipeg police said in a traffic advisory posted to social media just after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Several northbound lanes on Main Street at Dufferin were also closed. 

Multiple people at the scene of the collision told CBC News that a person had been hit.

Police asked drivers to avoid the area and find alternate routes. Delays are expected, police crews said. 

Police crews were at the scene for several hours, spanning from the late afternoon into the evening.
