A 29-year-old woman faces attempted murder and other charges after she allegedly used her vehicle to hit a man multiple times and then assaulted him as he was on the ground.
RCMP were called shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday about an assault on Main Street in Dauphin, Man.
A vehicle had clipped a man, then hit him again when he got up and tried to run away, police said in a news release on Thursday.
The driver then got out of the vehicle and further assaulted the man, who was lying on the ground, RCMP said.
A bystander tried to intervene and stop the attack but was also assaulted by the woman, who then drove off, police said.
Officers later located and arrested a woman the man knows.
In addition to attempted murder, she faces charges of assault with a weapon, assault, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, uttering threats, failure to stop after an accident and failing to comply with a prior court order.
Both people who were assaulted were treated at hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
