Niagara Region is keeping up its legacy of large-scale egg hunts, and many more events for Easter weekend. Here are some Easter events coming up during the long weekend.

St. Catharines:

Participants can check-in at the Market Square on 91 King St. for this year’s bunny trail map and can join a scavenger hunt in downtown St. Catharines on March 28 starting at 11 a.m, as well as a draw with prizes, which include four Niagara IceDogs tickets, a gift basket and gift cards to the farmers’ market.

Niagara Falls:

Missed the bunny trail in St. Catharines? There will be another bunny hop trail in Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls, on April 6 at 12 p.m. Limited prizes will be given at Blue Moose Toys to those who complete the trail.

Thorold:

Canada’s oldest running dirt track, Merrittville Speedway, is back again with its third Easter Eggstravaganza on April 4, starting at 11 a.m. Kids will get to sit in race cars, fire trucks and police cruisers, and participate in games and contests.

Wondering how to celebrate Easter through breakfast? The Market Cafe in Welland’s farmers’ market at 70 Young St. will have bunny pancakes and free Easter-themed mocktails. You can also win a farmers’ market gift basket by guessing the closest amount of candies in a jar.

Pelham:

The town will be hosting an egg hunt at Centennial Park on April 4, starting at 11 a.m., with the Easter bunny tagging along. Participants can take photos with the bunny and enjoy free hot dogs at the event.

Port Colborne and Wainfleet:

At 9 a.m. on April 3, local Realtor group Niagara Sold by Kate will be dropping off clues and riddles to help you find 25 golden eggs across Port Colborne and Wainfleet.

West Lincoln:

The township’s community centre at 177 West St. is hosting their Community Easter Fest on April 3 starting at 9 a.m., featuring a petting zoo, face painting and photos with the Easter bunny. The community centre will also be accepting non-perishable food donations for West Lincoln Community Care.

Grimsby:

The Easter bunny won’t be the only one hopping around this year. A bouncy castle will be up at the Grimsby Community Courtyard, 39 Main St. W., with cookie decorating and face painting available. Businesses in downtown Grimsby will also take part in the egg hunt on April 4 starting at 10 a.m. 

Lincoln:

Want to take your Easter egg decorating to a whole new level? The Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre, 3800 Main St., will be hosting a pysanky workshop, a Ukrainian egg decorating tradition that uses beeswax, on March 29 at 11 a.m.
