How to complete Rent Negotiations in Monster Hunter Stories 3 (Gaul Side Story 3)


Monster Hunter Stories Gaul Side Story 3 Rent Negotiations will pit you against a Shrouded Nerscylla. Successfully completing the mission makes the Riders’ room rent-free in Galyad and also provides context regarding Gaul’s backstory.

You can unlock Gaul’s Side Story 3 in MHS3 after completing Ena’s first mission in Galyad.

Go to the Ministry of Eggs

Fast travel to the Ministry of Eggs. Go to the room on the left and interact with the Guild Collector. You will be tasked with clearing an Egg Quartz cavern of monsters.

If you follow the yellow exclamation point, you will have to go outside of the Ministry of Eggs, go to Galyad’s dock, go back to Tarkuan’s Oasis, and go towards the mine to find the path to the cave’s entrance (hit G to get the yellow exclamation point). You can also get there by directly fast traveling to Lookout Point: Oasis.

Cave exploration and defeat Shrouded Nerscylla

Inside the cave, go straight ahead, and take the left at the fork. You should see a gold shaft in the distance. Go towards it. Once the cutscene ends, you will have to fight a Shrouded Nerscylla. It has a Technical type in its base form and is weakest to Ice and Fire elements. A Dreadqueen Rathian can do significant damage.

Once you have defeated the monster, a cutscene begins (this is an important cutscene providing the necessary backstory of Gaul). Go back to the Guild Collector in the Ministry of Eggs. Once that cutscene ends, the mission is complete.
